It says ‘instant pot mac’- I have no idea how you use an instant pot to make that, but she’s grating cheese, so it ain’t just out of a box. I didn’t actually see this happening- another friend posted a pic of that tweet to IG yesterday, several days late. I might just follow her on IG to see if there’s a repeat performance.

Well bull in a china shop sounds like fun but while she’s breaking all the china and getting attention the other side is rallying together over their vile and violent policies. Maybe she can pick and choose her battles but also bide her time.
Pelosi has announced that the first bill she’s going to put through the Democratic controlled House is one that establishing national AVR, restores protections of the VRA, and puts in legislation on public campaign finances that circumvent Citizen’s United.
All are hard left/progressive ideas. Unexpectedly so, in fact.
But hey, narratives…
And to be clear, what’s fascinating about that is that she doesn’t have to go left on those issues. She’s like the Simpsons now. As long as they keep making Simpsons episodes, Fox will air them; as long as Pelosi’s in the House, she’ll get elected speaker. She doesn’t need to short up her progressive bonafides, necessarily.
She’s obviously going to tack back to center on other issues. I think. But this was a pleasant surprise.

I’ll say that I’m not a fan of that brand of humor. How many of us literally have missing body parts as a result of serving their country? I’d hazard the % is around 0.001 or lower. I’m likely to hate his political views and positions, and those are fair game to blast away at, but the eye patch is inappropriate IMO.
Rachel Maddow pissed me off so badly I’ve refused to watch her show since when she mocked McCain for tripping during the 08 campaign, an older gent, a former PoW, for doing something all of us do.

Seriously, Cortez just screams tea party to me… the same basic MO. Super ideologue, with absolutely no experience in government, coming in and demanding things, and refusing to go along with stuff their own party puts forth because it’s not exactly what they want.

Don’t worry, Pelosi’s good at whipping the youngsters into towing the same line. At least she was back in 2006-2010.
And if Cortez can push back and get a deal that climate change should be put ahead in that agenda, then good for all of us, maybe.

Climate change is potentially civilization-ending. It calls for a little more extremism, frankly.

I’m generally with you. But c’mon it’s an eye patch. That’s kind of funny in almost all contexts. Sort of like the word “poop” - we may no longer be immature children, but it is still a funny word that can’t help but elicit a chuckle.
