That is correct, races such as Supreme Court, Judges and local stuff like County Auditor do not have party affiliations marked on the Ohio ballots. Two days before Election Day I received a very nice postcard in the mail from the Ohio Democratic Party that listed all of the races, including judges and local seats, and their Democrat candidates. You bet your ass I took that card with me to the polls and voted straight ticket (excepting only a single judge, and that’s only because I worked with her years ago, she’s old-school Republican and a good person, and she’s been a very good judge on the bench here for years).
Without party affiliation, name recognition and other sillier factors come into play. Take the Hamilton County Auditor for example. It doesn’t list party affiliation, but the Democrat incumbent is Dusty Rhodes (no, I am not joking, that’s really his name). Dusty has been in local politics for nearly as long as I’ve been alive, and before that he was a disc jockey on the local radio stations. He’s done a damn fine job for over a decade as county auditor, instituting several great programs (like Dusty’s Dogs, a licensing program that generates revenue but also helps reunite lost dogs with their owners) and keeping the auditor’s office in the forefront of technology (the property tax and search website is very nice). Dusty has won every single office he’s ever run for, on pure name recognition. I am willing to bet nearly 50% or more GOP registered voters in Hamilton County voted for Dusty, a Democrat, this past election.
Of course the Republicans would vote for the American Dream.
LOL, I forgot about the WWE wrestler.
Hmm…maybe we could make this a thing. Have all the Democratic candidates get their names legally changed to names that would appeal to low-information Republican voters.
“Did you see this guy running for state senator? Ronald Raygun. Gotta vote for that guy!”
I’m surprised the Republicans haven’t countered with an auditor candidate named Ric Flair.

Bob Casey would potentially not be a bad candidate.
FL SoS has officially ordered a hand recount of ballots in the Senate race.
A pro-life Democrat is dead in the water in the primaries.

Well, I’m always thinking about the general election.
Cisneros pulls into a 941 vote lead in the CA-39.
That’s a FLIP.

Don’t worry, his B.S. sells to the wealthy donors that line his and TPUSA’s pockets.

She’s also not the first Asian American Woman elected to Congress.
I’m sure someone pointed that out to him already.
Edit: maybe it looks like she’s the first Korean American Woman (you know, assuming she wins, which looks doubtful)
Yeah, was this guy not watching the Kavanaugh hearings? Senator Mazie Hirono was right there.
Salena Zito is such a fucking fraud.
Okay, but other than being a fraud, who is she?
Is there a link to that, because I have no idea who that is.
Yeah, is this someone that people have listened to in the past. What is her claim to authority?
