A new 20, from deep in the multiverse:

Everything Evrywhre All at Once

It is, Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.

And not a peep about this movie from me, because my wife and I went into it knowing nothing and enjoyed the hell out of it. And I hope all of you do too.

To not spoil this for those who haven’t seen it, I’m marking the rest of these frames as spoilers.

The A-Team?

Already been done.

I dunno what it is, but that’s Bucky and Opie’s daughter.

The movie where Chastain plays a young Mirren?

Nein!

No guesses yet but as an IT person, the way they portray the CIA screen is pretty modern in comparison to the very stupid depictions of how things worked not that long ago on screen. This seems to be a recent movie. The same in regards to larger widescreen monitors and the Iiyama brand. They are even doing exposition of the plot via the information on screen, again this screams modern.

The Gray Man?

Nope!

I think it’s supposed to be BND or some other German agency using CIA dossiers. The actor sitting by himself looks really familiar but I just can’t recall his name. His character’s last name appears to be Roja.

Very well could be. Something adjacent in the way of intelligence services. And I agree on the back of that actor, they seem familiar.

I haven’t seen it, but that looks like Sebastian Stan and Jessica Chastian, and they were in some sort of espionage movie lately. The 355?

Ding, ding, ding! Dr. Crypt swoops in with the correct answer. The 355. This is certainly, um, one of the movies of 2022. I knew there was trouble early when one of the opening shots appears to be an obligatory “we have a drone!” shots, except something was off with the frame rate and lighting. And I looked closer, and, yes, instead of an inexpensive drone shot, they did a virtual shot of a mansion in CG, but it was terribly done, right down to the point of seeing the pop-in on a tree. And that’s The 355. A movie that tries to be overly glossy and artificial to the detriment of everything else, which is the annoying style of a lot of action movies these days.

My wife and I are torn on the overuse of drone shots these days. On the negative side, it’s in damn near every movie now. But on the plus side, there are a ton of beautiful scenery shots added to movies that create rolling vista views that are great. I guess the dust will settle later on once the newness of it all fades. But damn is it cool in an action shot for an overhead view.

Here’s the new 20:20.

Topical, but unfortunately…
