The Sierra VGA games really do look ugly. Everything is so blurry and … sticks out? I think the cga/ega Laura Bow still looks fine though.
Maybe that’s just some ScummVM scaling filter? Back when I played it was impressed by the backgrounds and dialogue graphics, the museum was really cool.
I think that’s pretty much how those games looked.

My first though is Final Fantasy 7, probably not right, but looks like the kind of things found in the slums at the open.
