The first Master of Orion?

Fwiw, the iOS version of Talisman is on sale for 99 cents, down from $6.99, timed to coincide with the release of the 5th expansion pack Sacred Pool.

No right guesses yet

Looks like Starflight series to me.

Hmm I swear I’ve seen that before, but can’t place it. How about a shot in the dark with Space Empires III.

Anyhow paging Brian Rubin!

That looks SOO FAMILIAR… argh I’m dying

That’s totally Starflight.

It is Staflight, however, it’s not your traditional Starflight, but the much superior Genesis versions:

They added Star Control like arcade controls for combat and planetary exploration, improved the graphics, but respected everything else. The Genesis got this and an awesome port od Sid Meier Pirates! that I think it’s also the best version (of the classic Pirates!, the new one is a different game). these two are really worth trying out.

I’m giving it to Papageno because he got the right game in the series, rowe33.

PS: they never ported Starflight 2 to the Genesis, and having played this version, I’ve been unable to go back to the old PC based version of Starflight 2, so that game remains unplayable to me…

Starflight! I tried playing the PC version from GOG, but the timing is completely broken. Next I tried playing the Amiga version on winuae, but I didn’t get very far. I didn’t know about the Genesis version…I’ll file that piece of info for future use.

Ahem, Papageno ? :)

I have one at the ready if Papageno is away.

I wasn’t the first one to guess Starflight. I played it on the Mac myself. Go for it tylertoo.

Have a feeling this will be quick.

Divine Divinity?

Arcanum.

I told you it would be quick.

Corkeh, you’re up!

Man, I loves me some Arcanum. I wish I could have gotten more into it when I tried a second play through here a few years ago off GoG.

Edit: I probably should’ve started with one of the characters visible or at least somewhat close to the starting selection. Oh well, I’ll leave it alone and see if anyone gets it.

Can anyone provide protips on how I can play the Genesis version of Starflight because that looks so bloody awesome.

Got a Raspberry Pi and xbox controller handy?

Otherwise, the emulator packages that come with Retropie most likely have Windows binaries available. Just need to get yourself a copy of the Startflight ROM.
