Zombies Ate My Neighbours?

No and no. We are at least circling the right decade here. I must confess this is not my screenshot either.

Simcity?

It’s Urban Strike.

Nobody quite has it yet. But I feel much more confident that someone will.

I think you are right. I’m going to say Jungle Strike, though

Might be Jungle Strike?

That had a White House mission, I think…

ARgggggggggggh I meant Jungle Strike – the one with the White House. Urban Strike wasn’t on the Amiga. (Though I think I played it on the Mega Drive).

Still, I don’t know if the Strike series is correct… Surely Craig would have hinted at how close I was?

Multiple games had a White House mission. This is not a White House mission (from any game).

I moved up the next photo.

Desert Strike then? :P

Bingo.

In fact Desert Strike ends with a White House mission, I think. Been a long time.

looks it up

Huh, it seems the White House level was Jungle Strike. I honestly thought it was Desert Strike.

One of my favorite games back then. Played all of them, beat all of them. I loved/ hated that Stealth fighter though. Always crashing.

EDIT: I very nearly awarded Pod for Urban Strike. The games are very similar in look, and were it not for the desert coming in to frame later, I probably would have.

I was actually kind of worries people wouldn’t remember this game. I have no sense for how well received this game was. But I definitely have several moments from the series, especially the White House level, burned into my memory. I even enjoyed the later 3D versions like Nuclear Strike. That had a particularly memorable turn.

Man I played the crap out of that game on the SNES and still couldn’t place that shot. :/

I abused the heck out of the fact that you did not use fuel over water. Also getting a copilot that was better with the winch, big help.

How could I forget it? I’m constantly enraged that no one’s made a remake of this, even in the kickstarter boom. Or a thunderbirds/desert-strike/sim copter mix. Or anything with an easy to control strafing helicopter of doom.

Yes, the Strike series is (was) pretty popular, I would think. Urban Strike was the first one that popped to my mind, like Pod. I don’t know how playable they are now, but I beat the first three several times back then.

I will have something up tomorrow!!!

Ahhh, Desert Strike. Fun times on the Amiga.

Ok, let’s see how this goes…

Syndicate Wars?
