Or the Chevy Chase era.

Making fun of Presidents is kind of SNL’s thing and has been since the beginning.

On top of everything else, are we really going to have to endure 4-8 years of Trump tweetstorms whining about how SNL made fun of him?

Not the full 4 - 8 years. Once he passes the “Libel Expansion Act”, which will allow him to sue anyone that says “Trump” without it being followed by “…is the greatest”, all the “unfair leftists” will stop making fun of him.

Edit: just saw this. I’m sad the meeting will be “off the record”. I would love to hear what is discussed/demanded/threatened

We have twitter, I don’t know why need reporters to lie about our Great Leaders words of wisdom.

Someone here in another thread didn’t understand the same about John Oliver. Artistic/comedic license is a thing that has nearly always been. We don’t live in Soviet Russia.

Someone linked an article way back during the primaries about Trump not handling criticism well and it’s showing to be more and more true. He is going to have a tough time as President with an ego like that.

I’m worried more about the tough time we’re going to have with his ego being like that.

Oh, speaking of Hamilton…
The Twitter account for the theatre company in Hamilton, the city in southern Ontario, was being mistaken for the account for Hamilton, the Broadway musical.

“Dozens of angry Americans tagged the Hamilton theatre company’s Twitter account (@HamiltonTheatre) instead of the official Hamilton musical account (@HamiltonMusical),” Leonard told CBC News.

“They’ve been calling to boycott Hamilton and stage protests but little do they know that they are picking on Hamilton, Ontario’s oldest musical theatre company,” Leonard said.

“None of them have bothered to actually look at our account to see that they are wrong.”
I’ve been watching Deadwood on Amazon lately (makes me want to use fuck in every sentence) and this quote from Jane pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling since the election:

Everyday takes figuring out all over again how to fucking live.

Substitute “cope” for “live” and that’s how I feel every morning; I’m just angry all the time now - the entire ordeal, including the so-called analysis on why Trump won is so surreal I’m having trouble remaining rational.

I hear ya, @MrGrumpy - my wife keeps getting super agitated (she likes watching Rachel Maddow and that gets her all wound up), and I have to repeatedly tell her that she needs to keep calm and not get too worked up over every little thing that happens…

…but honestly, even while trying to keep myself at an even keel, I don’t know how I’m going to endure 4 (or more???) years of this shit. Every. Single. Thing. that comes out of this man’s mouth is incredible in its immaturity and self-centeredness.

Maybe the solution is to drink more beer, I dunno. Or I need to develop much better coping skills.

Well at least we have the beer thread, and people of impeccable taste!

Because, christ, we are going to need it. Every time I hear that man speak, I just get angry.

Write your congess person. It’s not nothing.

Unless your Congress person is Steve Fucking King.

Oh wait. :(

I have at times in the past. But mine is already one of the more activist minded congress people. Remember a few years ago how some people got arrested for protesting Trayvon Martin? One was my representative.

I’m 49 in two weeks. I gave up and just drink beer. Learning new coping mechanisms are for younger people with more incintive than me.

My wife has taken to doing this recently. Just getting her opinions on the record, I guess.

They’re waiting for you, Donald.

Don’t be a primma dona Trump, is not cool.

Dementia.
