With Google promising to not host ads on fake news sites, and Facebook to fact check articles, what’s Twitter to do? If they decided to ban Trumps’ account, something I assume thay are legally allowed to do, would that just prompt conservatives to switch to some alternate app to fill the void, and create yet another echo chamber where normal people don’t get to see the crazy?

Even setting aside the fact that banning the account of the sitting President would be silly and highly unlikely (if he’s going to use the Bully Pulpit to, you know, bully a bunch of folks, then a Twitter ban isn’t really going to do much beyond removing a distraction), why would Twitter want to drive away one of their biggest drivers of free attention? With Trump tweeting away, the platform is going to stay relevant for years.

That’s the thing, Trump has managed to kill the truth. So reality no longer matters. He can do and say whatever he wants, and people like @Klaatu will support it anyway, because “It’s not Killary! It serves those evil libtards right! This will teach them a lesson!”
At this poitn, it’s become an exercise in cutting off our nose to spite our face. Political partisanship has blinded people to reality, such that they are willing to support things which they otherwise would have abhorred.
