He’s a much less likable Zaphod Beeblebrox, allowed to be president to distract and entertain the masses.

I wonder what a person who “doesn’t look like they should be allowed to vote” looks like?

Fellow German nationals that he recognized?

BINGO! You win.

There’s no conflict of interest here!

Probably like the Asian guy behind me in line on election day that was grilled by the old ladies for ‘not possibly being from Iowa, or America’. Dude had like 4 photo ID’s and a birth certificate and was still patiently waiting as I was leaving.

Whatever, man. Trump said you would. Why would he lie?

President Pena Niento is a fool if he actually follows through with the planned visit next week. Basically, he’ll be kissing Trump’s ring.

You are drinking some serious Koolaid. How did that efficient political organization turn out for you let’s see.
Hillary spent $1.4 billion vs Trump at $923 million. Who is president?. What about down ballot races who spent more money? generally Democrats Who won the most seats at every level of the government that would be Republican.
Oh what basis would you possible call the DNC an efficient operation?

Donald Trump (sadly) won the Republican nomination despite the opposition by vast majority of the establishment Republicans. He did so in a system that was designed to two things give the person with most primary votes a lion share of the delegates and give minimal power to state party officials.

It wasn’t the job the DNC to pick the nominee it was their job to ensure a fair contest where the Democratic party members selected the nominee. Even if Bernie Sanders had narrowly won the popular vote/most pledged delegates it is very likely the Democratic super delegate would still nominated Hillary.

Yup the Russian hacked the DNC, now I don’t entirely blame the DNC for letting that happened Russian hackers are pretty good. On the other hand, they did a shitty job responding to the hacks. I have seen no evidence that emails showing Debbie Wasserman Shultz and other DNC member in the tank for Hillary were fake. That’s part of the reason Tulsi resigned she didn’t like the rigged system.

But saying there was no corruption in the DNC is Trumpian.

The basis of 66 million votes in the 2016 Presidential election.

I think the furthest I would go is that the DNC has as much corruption as the GOP. But I’d only say that to avoid an argument. I don’t actually believe it, given the state of the GOP today and what it has done to the country.

Let’s compare
Clinton $1.40 billion /65.8 million= $21.27/vote
Trump 932.3 milion/63.0 million votes = $14.80/vote
Obama 2012 $1.145 billion/62.6 million = $18.29/vote

More importantly the brilliant DNC GOTV operation managed to turnout 20+% more votes in those critical battleground states of New York and California, while managing to turn out lower raw vote totals in Ohio, Wisconsin, Penn, and Michigan, and Iowa. in the case of Ohio more than 10% lower and 25%+ in Iowa… Really Florida is the only battleground state the DNC got a significant increase of its voters to the polls than in 2012. Truly a model of efficiency

Regarding corruption. I’m not talking about GOP vs Democrats. I’m talking about the campaign organizations RNC vs DNC.

I tried to watch the ABC interview with Trump to provide some fresh new material for this thread.

I managed to stick around long enough for him to explain that American taxpayers were just going to temporarily be paying for the wall but after negotiation Mexico really was going to be paying for the wall. But Trump allowed that payment might be complicated.

But after him continuing about the 3-5 million of illegal voters in this country with his only proof being. “I believe and so do millions of others” I found myself screaming at the TV. I think that I’m only going to be able to stomach Trump in 140 character burst from now on.

It’s pretty clear from the text of the executive order that Mexico is going to “pay” for the wall out of their financial aid we give them.

He lost decisively in the southern states*, which then turned out en masse for Trump. He won Michigan. He won Wisconsin. As an independent for the vast majority of his career, he certainly wasn’t in tune with the party, but he might have been more in tune with the nation.

*annihilated, really. Looking back at the primary results, he couldn’t crack 30% in South Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, or Arkansas, and did almost as badly in Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, and Maryland (not hitting 40% in any of those). Unfortunately, Clinton only won Virginia and Maryland in the general. The Southern Firewall sure got Bernie, though!

How is it clear? Are you talking about Sec. 9 Foreign Aid Reporting Requirements?

And then there’s this, of course.

[quote]Donald Trump has used his first TV interview as president to say he believes torture “absolutely” works and that the US should “fight fire with fire.”

Speaking to ABC News, Trump said he would defer to the defence secretary, James Mattis, and CIA director, Mike Pompeo, to determine what can and cannot be done legally to combat the spread of terrorism.

But asked about the efficacy of tactics such as waterboarding, Trump said: “absolutely I feel it works.”

(No shocker here given that his stance on the topic had already been very clear ahead of the election.)
