There’s no concrete evidence Bannon has less influence over Trump than he did on day one. All we’ve seen is a bunch of press indicating Preibus/Flynn*/Kushner wish Bannon was gone, and Trump tweeting “I’m my own man!” (Which, knowing Trump, could be the result of Bannon standing next to him and saying, “Of course you’re your own man, Donnie.”)

But all that hasn’t resulted in any actual visible change in Bannon’s status or access, just a bunch of chatter.

*WaPo is walking back the report of Flynn staring down Bannon after the White House says it never happened … not what you would expect if Bannon were actually being sent to the dog house.
