Listen to the quote in context of the speech. It is pretty clear he is not talking about voting. He is talking about after she is elected and selects judges, then wink wink, nod nod, about the second amendment people being able to do something.

They’ll look, no doubt, but nothing will happen. Trump didn’t explicitly threaten her or tell anyone to kill her. At worst, he implied that some single-issue 2nd Amendment voter could take things into his or her own hands.
Normally you send the Secret Service in to have a chat and that’s enough to get the threat-giver to shut up.

This gives them a way to insulate themselves from the criticism of Trump. No one else will buy it, but this gives folks who have already committed to their new God Emperor a way “out” in terms of dealing with inherently irrational things he says.
You can pretend that he didn’t actually say something totally crazy, and can just pretend he said something normal and it’s only “The Lamestream media” making it LOOK like he said something crazy.
I just…no. I have officially reached the “fuck those people” stage of the 2016 Presidential campaign. Go move to Russia or Zimbabwe or Thailand or Syria or something if your desire for a “strong” leader is so overwhelming that you no longer believe in peaceable elections.
