I just did that myself. The nice thing about getting an Arcade is that you get a memory card that you can move profiles to as needed.
But that video cable is cheap as hell. I can’t believe that MS would even have something this lame manufactured.

Also comes with GTA GTA2 and Wild Metal. Damn good price.

Which is the best of these? I can afford only one because I’ve spent about a million dollars on games this month already.
My vote’s for the Max Payne games, but I was never a GTA fan and I haven’t played any of the other games in that collection.

The Max Payne games are pretty good, but short, so you’d probably get a lot more value out of San Andreas, especially if the mods and multiplayer hacks work with the Steam version (can’t remember if they do offhand).
Then again, if you’ve already bought a million bucks of other games, perhaps time is the resource you’re short on…
I’m a big fan of the Max Payne games, the second one in particular.
GTA3 is my favorite of the post-3D GTAs, but I think many people would recommend Vice City over it for the addition of motorcycles, usable planes, helicopters, and various other features.

Thanks for the heads up. I bought Max Payne 2. I loved the original, but never got around to playing the sequel. I just bought it for $5 during this sale.

I didn’t care all that much for Max Payne.
I’m interested in one of the GTAs. Is there no consensus which is the best (not counting 4?) :(
Vice City was my favorite of the GTA 3 era GTAs. There are a couple of minor San Andreas features that I wish Vice City had, but overall I enjoyed Vice City’s city/atmosphere/music more than enough to compensate for those things.

I liked San Andreas for the size of the world. My favorite thing is to just grab a plane and see how long I can buzz buildings without crashing :)
GTA3’s archetypal city is great, but no bikes and no flight. Vice City is horribly, horribly flat and uninteresting. SA has both great design and all the features I like, you just have to get past the overly long intro and the first gangsta part of the game. After that it goes bugfuck crazy just like all GTA “storylines”.

Whoa, I just noticed that I can get pretty much all the GTAs for 15 smackeroos. Sold!
is your tv/monitor higher than eye level? forcing your eyes to look upwards opens a gap between your eye and the bottom eyelid, drying them out. having the tv below eye level keeps the gap closed.

Good input! My monitor’s normally at eye level, but I’ll lower it a bit to see if that has a positive impact.

Gogamer has the MS wireless receiver for $10 plus shipping in their latest 48 hour madness sale. That’s the thingie that you plug into a USB slot that lets you use your 360 wireless controllers with your PC. I’m tempted to pick it up, even though I already bought a wired 360 controller for $15 from a Gogamer sale a year ago for that very purpose.

Has anyone gotten that to work? Whenever I try to buy it, it still shows the full $250 at the end of the checkout process.
By eye level do you mean relative to the top, bottom, or center of the display?
I’m no ergonomics expert, but the general rule of thumb I’ve heard from multiple sources is that the top of the monitor display should be at the same height as your eyes so you’re kind of looking down at it, but not so much that you actually have to angle your head at all.

That’s my understanding, as well, but the top of my monitor was above eye level while looking straight ahead.
