I have all of these games already but the idea of clicking in Steam to play instantly is pretty darn enticing at $5. Anybody know if these work without additional patches/tweaks/3rd party utils?

They should run fine as-is, as they’re set up to run in a pretuned DOSBox. Edit: Though on one slower system I had to mess with the audio settings for DOSBox a bit (reducing the audio buffer size) to get rid of some audio lag.

I know there is a new version of the 280 caliber card coming out soon, but I can’t believe the performance is going to be so great that these cards won’t still be a great deal after the new release.

Currently buy.com is blowing out GTX280 cards for ~$200. I just ordered this one:

These won’t last. They had BFG cards that went on sale and got posted and they’re already out of stock, and I don’t expect stock replinishment on any of these older process 280s. But that’s as cheap as a 4870 512MB and I need a new card for my wife’s computer anyway, and the 280 is still currently the single best non SLI based card. Get em while they’re hot!

Edit: And they’re apparently already back up to normal price. I had to double check my cart to make sure the price didn’t change while I was placing the order. Weirdness. Here’s hoping they actually sell it to me at the listed price.
