Yeah, I’m leaning that way because I loved San Andreas and sandbox games in general. I didn’t like GTA4 because I wanted more gameyness (mini games, little side activities etc.) like San Andreas had. I’ve heard SR2 has that.

Since those games are not available for sale from Gamespy, I take it the way to buy it is to first put in your queue, have it sent to you, and then use the “Keep it” option to get the case and manual, Robert?

Exactly.

I’m hoping I get Rise of the Argonauts in time to use that coupon on it, if I end up enjoying it enough to want to keep it.

Does it ever! I think it might even have side activities for your side activities at this point.

Crap! That’s right. I just realized that myself. I can’t get any of the games I wanted because they aren’t in the stupid store, and I don’t have them out. I could keep Chrono Trigger, but that’s my only real option. Damn these sales. Now, if I had a better turnaround time from Gamefly, I MIGHT have a chance at one of the others.

That’s definitely the worst thing about Gamefly. They seem to be in no particular hurry to either receive games back from me or to send new games out. I could send and receive at least a half a dozen Netflix movies in the time in has taken Gamefly to receive and send back a single game. It’s frustrating.

Impulse seems to be having a weekend sale (starting today - early weekend) for some games. Kudos 2; Astral Masters; Gish; and er another one.

Edit: Fourth one is TangleBee. All $4 except for Kudos2 ($6)

First I get pissed because I didn’t get a coupon in e-mail. Boo!

Then I check my account and see I do have the coupon. Yay!

Then I check the store and realize there are only three games over $30 I can use it on and I’m not interested in any of them (Too Human, SWFU, SoulCalibur IV). Boo!

Then I remember I have a game checked out. Yay!

Until I remember it’s just Civilization Revolution. Boo!

sigh

Heresy! Burn the witch!

If you’ve already sent your game in, say, seven days ago, and they haven’t yet received it, then you can report it on the site … After a day it will be removed from your queue and they will send you the most available thing.

If your queue only has the thing you want to get, chances are it will be sent out as soon as available.

As soon as it is considered ‘sent’, you can opt to keep it. You don’t have to wait until it arrives.

So chances are you could buy it tomorrow.

Actually, I haven’t yet received CivRev, so I haven’t tried it. But I thought the bloom had officially faded from its rose once it showed up on 2008’s most disappointing list. I was just trying to go along with the hive mind! Did I miss the group-think memo?

I’d caution against doing that as you might be buying a disc that doesn’t work. I received a game from Gamefly once that was scratched up enough that it didn’t work. I’d have been mightily pissed if I’d exercised the Keep It option on it before making sure it worked.

Ha ha! I know Tom was down on the game, but I had a helluva lot of fun with it. I know zen really liked it to. It has its problems, of course. The enemy AI tends to be overly aggressive and its idea of diplomacy is to simply demand things from you. But the game remains very very fun in my humble opinion.

Yes, you did. It’s a really great game, despite the disappointment.

Saints Row 2 gets the OG seal of quality from biggest baddest currently sitting original gangsta, Dick Cheney.

He looks a bit closer in this light, but it really depends on the angle/lightning. I wish I had gotten a better likeness.

Edit: I also really wish the game let me name the saves. I can’t even use slots to distinguish between my characters because it bumps your most recent save to the top. :(

It’d really be sweet if you could save different character models in one game, kind of like you can save outfits. I love making new guys, but I’d like to do it without making multiple games.

Plastic surgeon. I don’t think you can keep the old look, though. However, it’s easier than restarting!

I’d just like to be able to save individual characters when I make something I’m amused by, and swap around at discretion. Just like with the clothes …

Petition for DLC.

Amazon finally has a Deal of the Day worth posting. Folklore (PS3) is $34.98. That game is still $59.99 at all of my local brick and mortar retailers. Weird.

It’s been $29.99 at my local Walmarts for several months, but the game is kind of rare in some places.
