Just got the Red Alert 3 collector’s edition at the local EB for 29.99. Seems like a really quick drop to that price, nothing indicated it was on sale so you might want to check out EB if you’re interested in the RA3.

What’s really annoying about the Circuit City liquidations is that idiot dumbasses will go over there right now and buy all the good stuff, before any of the good discounts kick in. That’s what happened in this area in November. By the time they got to the 20/30 percent discounts, everything good was gone. By the time they got to 50% off, everything mediocre and poor was gone. By the time they had it so that game, and game related prices were lower than Amazon prices, there was definitely nothing left worth buying.

I just wanted to go there just to stop people and ask them “Don’t you know that even at this discount, it’s still cheaper at Best Buy or Amazon? What is wrong with you? Why won’t you wait for a better discount for god’s sake people?”

Don’t forget to watch for last second markups too, before the discounts. Some closing CC stores have already done that. Double the price, then mark the item half off.

Apparently most of the liquidators are raising prices to MSRP and then discounting 10%. You’re likely to get a better price at Best Buy even with the 10% off at CC.

I guess that’s my followup question. Can I buy this card now and wait nearly a year before activating it? I know when they sell these cards, they scan them in so the code becomes active and can only be used once. But is there a time limit?

Or just, add them now, and it’ll have the time on there?

The old Xbox Live cards were indeed time restrictive, but I don’t know about these ones. Better safe than sorry, just input it now, it’ll add the months ontop of what you already have.
