Was that any good? I’d found the original MySims a little light.
I’ll let you know when it gets here. :)
From what I’ve read, it’s still the same basic game as the first. Collect essences and build stuff for people, repeat. But there’s more variety in the scenery, you no longer have to go back to your workshop to build stuff, and most importantly the load times have been reduced (P.S. IGN, “dramatically increased load times” does not mean what you think it means).
Impulse has their weekend deal up, with Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Titan Quest (the original, no expansion) and Defender of the Crown for $4 each.
How was DotC, the remake? I enjoyed the original back in the late 80s. Is it worth 4 bucks?
Damn, I don’t feel like grinding through Titan Quest but it’s always been in the back of my mind. I have Diablo 2 on the backlog but the graphics suck. Is the expansion important or does it just add some new samey content?

Oh shit they also have Multiplicity on sale. I’ve been using it for a few years now and I highly recommend the program. Yeah you can use synergy but I’ve found that Multiplicty works just that much better.
Multiplicity Pro is a program that lets you control 2 or more computers with a single keyboard and mouse.
If you’ve ever used a multiple monitor equipped PC, then you can imagine how Multiplicity works. Each monitor is connected to its own PC. When the user moves the mouse over to a given monitor, the user is then controlling that PC.
Works great.
$49.95 is listed on their site - is that the adjusted or standard price, Marcus?
Folks in the market, you might want to try synergy instead. It’s free, also known as the ultimate bargain.
The expansion adds two more classes and more content at the end of the game.
Don’t even try the game without the expansion. (For both Diablo 2 and Titan’s Quest). For Titan’s Quest’s expansion for example, you’ll get things like the ability to auto-sort your inventory, which is critical. Don’t even try to play without that.
So, I went to Radio Shack the other day to buy a phono plug, and found a brand-new, sealed copy of GTA4 for the 360, marked down to $11.97!
According to the clerk, no one believes Radio Shack sells video games in the first place, so they’re getting out of the market and clearing their stock. I don’t know if that’s nationally, or only my local store…
I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do with it. Sell it, maybe, or trade it… But at that price, you don’t pass it up! Not pre-Platinum, anyway.

Saw Knights of Honor on steam now for $8.99. Not that that’s a lot of money, but does anyone know if the game plays well? :)

I like this game a lot and still play it every year or so. It plays like a Total War/Europa Universalis hybrid. Less depth than both but very playable and lots of fun.
I have never seen games in a Radio Shack ever. That might be part of the problem.

Radio Shack used to be the only place I bought PC games from.
Of course, that was back in the late 80s and they were the only place around that sold them…heh. I remember they often had the latest version of Battlechess up and running in the center of the store, always impressed by how cool it looked.

Yeah but as I said I feel that multiplicity works better and is eaiser to set up and change. I saw it in the on sale section for 13.99 and find it well worth that. I paid 50 for it and don’t regret it one bit. Yes synergy works and is free but I just ran into too many issues with it so I made the swtich.
Aw, crap … Now that you say that … I think that’s where I’d gotten Battlechess from as well. But that was definitely 80s, and not since.
And possibly even some other weird space strategy game where you had a time limit and had to convince other planets to join the cause. Most of it wasn’t combat. Unusual interface. It was really difficult to figure out, and events would keep on progressing no matter what … Anyone recall that?
This is going to drive me crazy now.
Multiplicity doesn’t work on OSX :(
Also Stardock has basically lied about OSX support being “just around the corner” for something like 3 years now.
I wouldn’t mind paying for Multiplicity as I highly value things that Just Work right out of the box, but the Windows-only-ness of it kills it for me on a practical level and the way they’ve been stringing the promise of Mac OSX support along in their forums leaves a general distaste for the company in my mouth, not because I’m a huge Mac supporter, but just because it is lame to string customers along like that.
So I guess no one has an opinion on whether the Defender of the Crown remake is worth 4 bucks? I’ll have to get it anyway for old times sake, and since when I played its predecessor on the Mac it was back in the day on a monochrome internal 9" monitor.
