You should’ve just bought it and not spent $4 worth of time worrying about it.

I haven’t seen PC games there in years. The last time was probably around 1996, and even then it was only a handful of shovelware compilations and a big-boxed version of Commander Keen: Aliens Ate My Babysitter.

To this day, I still wish I’d bought the latter, especially since it came with a free watch! All I got from Apogee was the floppy disk in a plastic bag with a photocopied manual.

Tonight I managed to find Europa Universalis III Complete (contains both Napoleon’s Ambition and In Nomine expansions) for $9.99 new at the Software Etc. in the mall here, perhaps someone else would have similar luck.

I was in Best Buy just last night with the box in my hand, debating whether to pick it up for $29.99, and I couldn’t justify it as I already own the basic EU3. I was torn between that, and AGEOD’s American Civil War for the same price. I’m happy I resisted temptation and didn’t buy either, since I wouldn’t have bothered walking into Software Etc. otherwise. It takes all my strength to walk into that place…

Another Impulse sale: Titan Quest, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and Defender of the Crown are all $3.99

Ooo, yeah, I got that at EB Games (same chain) the other day, too, for the same price. I was looking for Mount and Blade, but they didn’t have any on the shelves, and the sole sales clerk was too engrossed in his Nintendo DS to check if any of the other stores in the area had it…

I didn’t know there were still any stores out there with the Software Etc. name! Our sole Gamestop-branded store (compared to three EB Games-branded stores) used to be called Software Etc., and, alternately, Babbages, but I haven’t seen any of those names in years.

Hmm, it’s $13.49 on the front page. Is there a code or something?

Millennia? Although that was 90s.

Man, that one’s been in my backlog for ages…

Here’s hoping that Steam would match the Titan Quest $4 sale in Impulse. I want my games in Steam!

You missed it man. Steam had both Titan Quest and its expansion on sale a few weeks before Christmas.

Sweet christ, Impulse does not fuck around with the deals. I already own both Titan Quest and expansion, and Dark Crusade, so I’m not -real- tempted by either, but $4 is a crazy bargain for either.

It’s a good 48 hour madness on GoGamer.com

King’s Bounty $23
HL2 $8
SupCom $7
Medieval 2 $6 Kingdoms $6
Sherlock Holmes Trilogy $10
Just Cause $3

Not at $4 though…

If I buy HL2 there, does it still have to be linked to Steam?
I’m late to the party with how the whole steam think works for retail box games.

No, it wasn’t $4, although I suppose technically it could be looked upon as $4 and $6. (It was $10 for TQ Gold, which included the expansion). Actually, I think that makes the current Impulse deal more expensive, unless you’re willing to play TQ without the expansion, which no one should have to do.

Yes, it still has to be linked to Steam. Basically, the best way to handle this is that you order from GoGamer, install Steam and set up an account. When you get the game in the mail, open it and ignore the CD. Just enter the code that comes with the game into Steam. It will now know that you own a legit copy of the game, and it’ll download it from Steam servers to your machine.

Stalker: Clear Sky is 50% off at $14.99 this weekend at Gamersgate.

I have TQ and TQ:IT on DVD, but Steam doesn’t recognize my codes. I chose Steam’s “Activate a product on Steam…” option, but it didn’t work. My codes are formatted as 1111-2222-3333-4444-5555. Am I doing something wrong, or am I SOL?

You can’t register TQ or the expansion on Steam. There are only a handful of non-Valve games that can be.

How is the Sherlock Holmes trilogy? My wife is a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. Anyone played those?
