Erm… well, since it’s an in-store deal, I guess I could link to Microcenter’s 21 locations nationwide.

I get an email from Microcenter telling me their deals for the week.

You know what I mean damn you!

I signed up for the newsletter. I’d just rather have something I can print out, in-hand before I go out of my way to visit Microcenter, a place that I tend to avoid at all costs.

Oh I see, you want to view the ad. I don’t know if this will work, but I’ll link to where I think you can view the email ad.

Thanks very much sir.

Edit: Ya know, since this is an in-store deal, I wonder if Best Buy would price match it. I think they might.

Edit 2: My local MicroCenter claims to have sold out of their stock last night, despite the Deal of the Day clearly being for today, March 20th, only. I’m guessing all of the employees that wanted one, got one, leaving nothing for any actual customers.

I just checked online again. A couple of hours ago the Microcenter website was showing they had 3 copies (at my local store), and now they no longer have any. I guess the 50 Cent game is more popular than I would have given it credit for, at that price at least.

I’m gonna take a chance that Best Buy will price match the ad. It clearly says the deal is in-store and the local Microcenter is just down the street from Best Buy, so BB can’t claim it’s not a local competitor. I even checked the BB price matching policy and the only thing I can see that would prevent them from price matching would be to call the local Microcenter to check availability. And that’s something they reserve the right to do, but don’t typically do.

Steam weekend deal is Oddworld games 75% off. Oddworld pack is $3.75.

Too bad they don’t support Vista.

Can someone here say if they do run in Vista?

Wow. This reminds me exactly of Circuit City’s game sales. Advertise something at a special price, but have only a couple of copies in stock. Run out early on the morning of the sale. It’s such a brilliant strategy to drive up customer visits per store (the desired metric) and piss those same customers off (not measured, so who cares!).

I just knew that CC’s old employees would get picked up by MicroCenter. The countdown begins: two years or less until MicroCenter goes bankrupt.

Amazon.com is offering the console versions (360 & PS3) of Sacred 2 for $49.97. God only knows if this game is ever going to actually come out on consoles, but if you’re interested, you may as well lock in a $10 price break.

Bought off steam earlier today and I’ve only played a couple minutes of each game to check, but both work fine for me on Vista/32. From intro to gameplay they’re both fine, unless there’s some weird steam/vista problem that happens midway through the game I don’t know about.

As mentioned in its own thread but reposted here, Steam has 10% offalot of their Indie titles, and some choice ones at 33% off, including Defense Grid. Lasts til march 29th.

Jorune

Besides Defense grid are there any other good indie titles worth getting while they are on sale?

That depends on what you like, but I highly recommend Aquaria and AudioSurf.

I’ll usually try any indie game that has gotten good impressions . Is audiosurf worth it even if I don’t have a huge music collection on my PC?

Well, AudioSurf is more of an experience than a game, although I suppose there’s more game to it than I’ve bothered with since I basically stick to one mode of gameplay. But ultimately, it’s a great way to enhance your existing music library as well as the music that comes with the radio stuff they do, which is something I personally haven’t messed around with, so I’m not sure how it works. I’d say the game is worth way, way more than the current sale price or the regular as well.

As mentioned in it’s own indie sale thread, don’t buy Defense Grid from Steam. Buy it for $9.95 from Direct2Drive. As you can see on this page, Defense Grid is one of the games where you can take the Direct2Drive serial number, and activate a Steam Version with it too. So you’ll have it on both services, and it’s cheaper right now on D2D.
