As mentioned in it’s own indie sale thread, don’t buy Defense Grid from Steam. Buy it for $9.95 from Direct2Drive. As you can see on this page, Defense Grid is one of the games where you can take the Direct2Drive serial number, and activate a Steam Version with it too. So you’ll have it on both services, and it’s cheaper right now on D2D.

Wouldn’t you know – we finally get a decent Game Giveaway of the Day, Larva Mortus, the day after I buy it on the Steam sale. :)

It’s an arena shooter at its core. The graphics aren’t the best but it’s worth a little playtime if you like that style of game.

This is strange. Amazon had the Xbox 360 Elite Resident Evil 5 edition for $459.99 up until this morning, and I was deliberating.

Now it’s suddenly $552.86, after I refreshed the page at some point. Was that a limited-time deal? Even more confusing, Newegg had the same thing for the same price, but now their deal is $399, which is the same as the Elite w/o Res Evil 5. What am I missing here? Seems like something I should jump on, assuming I’m really in the market for an Elite as I’m telling myself I am.

Yeah get in on the newegg deal while you can. I think Amazon ran out of ready stock, that’s why the price jumped.

Sort of a subjective question, but would the 2 year $59.99 Service Net Replacement Extended Warranty Plan worth it or would it negate the value? Wouldn’t it be better to buy an extended warranty from MS?

Edit: Also, I think I would kind of regret the Dead Ringers look.

Stick with the Microsoft warranty. You get 3 years of Red Ring, and a Year of regular, and if it doesn’t die within those 3 years of Red Ring, its probably not going to (Not at this point at least).
