What does the Fortunes Pack add?

Yep, I’m gonna grab this after work!

I was hoping to find the 360 or PS3 version on clearance at Target for $14.98, but haven’t had any success and I have a powerful PC. Why should I not jump on this Steam deal?

Three brand new weapons, which can be found in the armory:
[ul]
[li]Silenced Shotgun[/li][li]Sawed-off shotgun[/li][li]Crossbow[/ul] Two new vehicles, which can be found at various locations throughout the game in place of cars or other vehicles:[/li] [ul]
[li]Unimog (big truck)[/li][li]Quad
Five new Multiplayer maps: [/li]
[li]Cheap Labor[/li][li]Last Resort[/li][li]Lake Smear[/li][li]Fort Fury[/li][li]Jungle Seizure[/ul]All the new weapons and vehicles will be available in Single-player and Multiplayer modes.[/li]

The game actually works best at this price. It’s something you can pop in for 30 minutes every few days to blast some mans and do one mission without getting bored. Treat it like a casual game and it’s almost as good as Peggle.

Is the copy protection any different on the Steam version compared to the retail? I heard some people complain about it in the original thread.

The steam page says the game has a SecuRom 5-machine activation limit.

It’s not different. You’re limited to 5 machines, I believe, and you will have SecuRom low level stuff installed on your machine if you don’t already.

Ubisoft provides a revocation tool if you want to reclaim one of your activations. The link for the utility is at the bottom of this page: http://farcry.uk.ubi.com/unlock/

They lowered it to $7.99 still w/free S+H.

Bastards. Could have saved two more dollars if I just waited… :(

Newegg also has R6V2 (PC) for $8 and HAWX (X360) for $45.

HAWX (360) is still $44.99 at Amazon too.

Hell yes!

It’s worth noting that the crossbow is scoped and fires exploding quarrels. It’s a bit counter intuitive that what appears to be a weapon for stealthy sniping is actually the equivalent of a scoped RPG, but it’s pretty awesome.

Is the DLC worth the 5 bucks?

Having a hell of a time. I’d actually like to pick Far Cry 2 up for $15, but the DRM’s keeping me away. On one hand, it looks like publishers are moving away from limited activations a bit so I shouldn’t feel too bad about buying it since (Seemingly) they got the point that people don’t like it. On the other hand, I’d hate myself in the morning.

Decisions decisions.

Edit: Eh, decided against buying it. If I didn’t buy it by now any way, I can live without it. Best not to support it at all, not even at $15.

Gamersgate has King’s Bounty: The Legend for $10 this weekend.

what drm does it have?

I would buy it on steam just to prove I like buying things off of steam… maybe then publishers will see that and get rid of draconian DRM.

Pretty sure my copy from Gamersgate had Securom with activation even for a downloaded title. The CD-KEY is on the download page for the game in your account and I just punched it in and it played fine after it installed.

There’s a reason that a game released less than 6 months ago at full price is selling for $7.99. Just sayin’.
