Wow I and Felt bad that I have bought a bunch in the past weeks and haven’t even launched Steam.

After seeing all that I am a wuss.

go me!

Far Cry 2 on Steam will be $14.99 through Monday.

Bah… for international gamer like me, Dark Messiah is not in the Ubisoft pack! Crap!

I already own King’s Bounty (through GamersGate, even, thanks to a previous if not as good sale) and Universe at War thanks to GoGamer, and I own three of the four games in the Ubisoft Pack (the ones I’d want), so those don’t impress me. But I’m curious about the GamersGate bundle of the week. WTF is Battle Mages? Has anyone heard of them? Played them? Any thoughts about whether they’re worth $15?

To the people who have a billion unplayed games: How about every time one of these super sales comes up, you instead write down the name of the game plus how much it would have cost you to buy on sale, then when you actually want to play one, you just subtract from the running total of money you haven’t spent and buy it at regular price? I say this as a person who is recovering from buying tons of cheap games I have never even installed.

I need to start a website that caters to gamers that are looking for deals on game icons, apparently theres a market ;)

Huh? Shows up as $24.99 here, maybe it’s because the RRP is higher ($49.99)?

EDIT: I guess they’re doing different prices for each region… lame.

What bundle? Link?

Guess he means http://www.gamersgate.com/?page=product&what=view&sku=DDB-BM12&aff=ggnews

I was wondering myself what they are like.

wow, the steam looks like the s&p and dow these days… is gaming teh dead? heh. steam rox imo, usually good deals… anyway uh

I look at it as my 401k gaming retirement log. Once I’m old and have nothing else to do I will have this long list of amazing games to work on completing in my silver years.

Far Cry 2 is 14.99?!? Damn. I haven’t played it yet, but I was planning to go with the 360 version so my wife could watch me play (she loves FPSs). That’s pretty tempting though. Is the PC version different in any significant way from the 360 game?

Only big difference is the save system. On PC, you can save anywhere.

I have both versions, and they’re the same. In fact, the way they did the controls, even sniping is just as satisfying on the 360 as it is on the PC. I generally only play the 360 version, because it’s that kind of game: laid-back, couch game. Plus your wife can watch you play. So wait for a deal on the 360 version, it won’t be long.

damn, i just bought king’s bounty from gg and far cry 2 + ubi pack from steam. there goes $35 USD.

so about king’s bounty, there are 2 patches listed: ggpatch and a 1.7 one–do i apply both? or one? or in what order?

i’m more or less atoning for all the piracy i did in my youth.

Looks like it’s a love it or hate it type of game:

Or possibly the company uses viral marketing to add 10 score user reviews.

80, 75, 123 games unplayed.

What do you guys do with your computers, WORK? shudder

I just purchased this also, and installed the ggpatch first, and then the 1.7 patch. everything seems to be working ok. :)

beyond good and evil vista 32-bit with ati radeon hd4670:

in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\beyond good and evil
run SettingsApplication.exe

in advanced settings you can max all water/flare/antialiasing/shadows or turn down them as you see fit but be sure to turn on manual compatibility settings and enable all BUT hw vertex processing–that causes textures to flash.

i also right-clicked bge.exe and set to xp sp2 compatibility mode, disabled visual themes and desktop composition or else start bar flashes. also disable steam community for this.

man, such a classic, endearing game/game world.
