For those interested or perhaps with kids, The Spiderwick Chronicles for the 360 is on sale today for $9.89 with free shipping at Buy.com.

Gamestop’s Game Days sale started yesterday. A few standouts: Valkyria Chronicles & RE Umbrella Chronicles for $30; Persona 3 FES and Medieval II Gold for $20; TR Anniversary (X360) for $15; FF Tactics (PSP), Viva Pinata (PC), and GH Aerosmith for $10; Hidden & Dangerous for $1. Use coupon code SAVER for free shipping on $25+ orders.

I don’t even own a PS3 (yet) and I jumped on Valkyria Chronicles for $30.* Another deal of note from the Gamestop promotion is Civ Revolution for the DS, a pretty much perfect clone of Civilization 1 that really adapts itself well to the platform. At $14.99 it’s a must-buy for folks with a DS.

*Especially as they sell the used version for 54.99…hm. Decisions, decisions.

I wish it was a perfect clone of the original Civ games, but instead found it unplayable due to that AI that’s either a pushover or nearly impossible to beat due to rampant cheating on the higher difficulty levels.

As for bargains, CAG’s reporting that Banjo-Kazooie, Scene It 2, and Viva Pinata 2 are now $20 at Amazon.

Poor Banjo and Viva … That makes me kinda’ sad.

I have to say, at that price Banjo Kazooie is such a bargain. I just beat it, and according to the stats I played for 26 hours. I really enjoyed almost every single one of those (after the first 30 minutes or so). If you liked Deus Ex for its “there’s so many ways to approach each mission”-ness, you should like this game too.

(Note: I’m not saying Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is an FPS)

I really loved the demo, I might have to pick this one up.

I’m also looking for any DS lite sales, and I’m surprised that I haven’t seen one from Gamestop at all. Also any sales on the PSP bundle would be great too.

Valkyria Chronicles now enters the “why oh why did I pay full price for that” category.

Not because it’s a bad game. It’s awesome. But I’ve barely played it and I only got it a month or two ago.

Just noticed that Left 4 Dead (PC) is $29.99 at Amazon right now: http://www.amazon.com/Left-4-Dead-Pc/dp/B000PS4X7S

I’m tempted, but I’m also tempted to see if that will somehow trigger another L4D Steam sale somehow.

GamersGate is offering 2 space sims (Dark Horizon / Tarr Chronicles) for the incredible price of 2.99$.
I’d get it but I don’t feel comfortable getting 2 more space sims while Freespace2 is still waiting on my harddrive.

Edit: After reading some reviews, apparently Dark Horizon is the sequel to Tarr Chronicles. Both scored mediocre to low reviews.

I purchased my new copy from Gamestop less than 30 days ago (had a $25 gift card from e-Rewards) and still hadn’t opened it, so I returned to GS with it and the receipt, and received $30+ cash back on the price adjustment. Otherwise, like you, I would have been bummed.

I’m doing the same, even though I own the 360 version.

The retail version turns into the Steam version upon installing. No reason to wait unless you are just trying to avoid a shipping charge.

Clive Barker’s Jericho for the 360 is on sale for $8.99 with free shipping on Buy.com.

Heh, it’s even worse for me: I bought it shortly after it came out for $45 and haven’t even opened it yet. I just got to see the first episode of the new anime series before I’ve played it.

It’s also $30 at Best Buy.

This should probably go in the HW thread, but: Micro Center has retail Core 2 Quad Q8200 CPUs on sale for $100 (in-store only). Unfortunately, mine is already sold out. :-(

They’ve also still got last-gen Mac minis for $500 minus $100 rebate.
