Don’t buy games for full price if you’re going to get your panties in a knot about it dropping in price during a sale.

Chill guys, Steve is just talking about the timing, that’s all. The only reason I didn’t buy it on Day One is because I have a Blockbuster gift card I’ve been meaning to use since Christmas, and if I’d bought the game when it was released, less than 2 weeks ago, I’d be kind of miffed that there was a sale so quickly after release too.

Incidentally, it’s going to be impossible to use that stupid Blockbuster gift card. They always get games for Rent first, and by the time they get new copies for sale, they’re usually on sale somewhere else, so it seems like a waste to use the gift card on something more expensive than what’s found elsewhere.

Oh well. Eventually there will be a big profile game like Halo 3: ODST or something like that, which I’ll be able to use the gift card for.

The Club is $9.99 with free budget shipping from Buy.com today. The stock is limited so don’t expect it to be around long.

My panties are completely unbunched. It’s just unfortunate for me that I paid $60 for the game when I haven’t even played it yet. I’m not on a hellfire and brimstone rant about how I got ripped off or anything. Relax.

Courtesy of CheapAssGamer, Amazon has some XBLA games on sale:

Pac-Man Championship Edition - $4.97
DOOM - $2.97
Undertow - $5.00

I’ll bite for Pac-Man: CE. I always wanted it, but could never bring myself to spend $10 on it.

Unless it’s a game I’ll play the day I buy it (like DoW2), I never buy games at MSRP. One look at my huge library of unplayed (hell, unopened!) games reminds me that purchasing games at MSRP is a waste of my money.

Not still unopened and within the return period, eh?

I actually opened it and installed it to my Xbox hard drive, I just haven’t played it. I was too busy taking over rackets in The Godfather II. I’m not all red assed about it or anything like that. I’ve been the beneficiary of waiting to buy games, most recently HAWX and Wanted, which both went down to around $40 within a week or two of release.

How’d you end up liking Wanted?

I’m enjoying it so far. It’s essentially about running from one place to the next, killing the guys that are in your way. It breaks up what could be monotonous with some varied level design and by changing pace once in a while with QTE-like slow-mo shooting events, sniping set pieces, and that sort of thing. The cover mechanic is excellent. Zipping from cover point to cover point is great, especially if you blind fire a bit before hand. That causes guys to duck into cover, indicated by the edges of the screen going white. While the guys are in cover you can zip quickly from cover to cover and loop around the enemies without them knowing, allowing for quick melee or shooting kills. There’s just enough going on with the bullet curving, cover movement, set piece events, and plain-old shooting that the game remains fresh and fun. I’ve heard it lasts about 5-6 hours, which sounds about ideal. We’ll see. I have between 2 to 3 hours into so far I think.

The first rule of Bargain Club, grasshopper: be frugal or be impatient - one cannot be both. :-)

Does the Club support split-screen MP? If so, what game mode(s) does it have?

Left 4 Dead (PC) for $27. Currently on backorder - make sure you order it straight from Amazon, not one of the other vendors, to get free shipping.

Amazon.com is offering Demigod (standard edition) for $34.99 and the CE for $46.99.

Ah thanks, time to request a $2 price adjustment from my $36.99 pre-order :)

As is Frys.

New GoGamer sale: includes LotR Conquest and Mirror’s Edge (both PC) for $20 ea and Top Spin 3 (PS3) for $10.

GoGamer also had the Guitar Hero World Tour full band kit for 360 for $80. But it sold out dang quick. :(

Which is why I didn’t bother listing it - no point taunting people with what they’ve already missed.

I’m sad I missed that Far Cry 2 Steam deal … I was on vacation for my birthday … Stupid birthday.

Direct2Drive has Immortal Defense for $4.95 right now. (drm free)

I remember this getting a lot of love on a Gamers with Jobs (or brainy gamer, i forget which) late last year.

Steam is offering a 25% discount if you buy Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 2 before the 20th
