No? Awww… Couldn’t you at least try the Portal demo and see? Isn’t Half-Life 2 supposed to scale well to lower-end systems?
Microcenter’s Weekend Gaming Deals let you pre-order Crysis Maximum (which includes Crysis and Crysis Warhead) this weekend for $15, and you can pick it up 5/7 when it’s released. Weird promotion.
What it actually says is that you can preorder it and get it for $10, so I went to Microcenter and tried to get that deal. Unfortunately, it turns out it costs $5 plus tax to pre-order something, and then it’ll cost $10 plus tax on top of that. So essentially it’s $15 plus tax. So I asked for my pre-order money back. I already own Crysis because of Best Buy’s coupon, and paying $15 for Crysis Warhead doesn’t seem that great a deal to me right now. I’m sure it’ll be cheaper than that on Steam one day. Or maybe Best Buy again. But if someone doesn’t have either game, it’s a great deal.
Is gog’s weekend sale Fallout? Just wondering.

So I beat Space Siege this afternoon. I’d say I put about 8 ish hours into it. 5 bucks was about right I think. Honestly I don’t think I’d have even paid 8 for it. Its OK but nothing great.

$300 80-gig PS3s from Dell for the next 48 hours:
Probably still worth it to buy it at this price so you have it for when you get a good computer. That said, HL2 is supposed to scale well to lower end computers. A friend of mine’s dad ran it on a really shitty office computer with an integrated graphics card (not very well mind you), so for $10 you might as well give it a shot.

All the source engine games run well on shitty computers from what I’ve seen. For $10 if you didn’t own it you’d be insane not to.

Let’s see… Vesper posted it first, but Jazar provided a more direct link, so I guess it’s a wash.
Thanks for the tip, I just grabbed one. Dell also had MGS 4 for $50, and Best Buy has Soul Calibur IV for $10 this week.

I was trying to give the props to Slickdeals, where I found it originally.

Well, I bought the Orange Box but already had a copy of the original Half-Life 2. On the off chance that someone here has not played it or does not own it, here is a bargain:
I’ll gift my extra copy to whoever replies first and wants it (and legitimately needs it/hasn’t played it/etc. Be honest) Cheers!
Just back from Best Buy, where a thousand husky vultures were picking at the remnants of of the 9.99 tables. I picked up Tecmo Bowl DS and the Quantum of Solace “collector’s” edition, which is a giant box with a t-shirt stuffed inside and hopefully a game as well.
I was at Best Buy at 10:30 and all they had left for 360 was 4 copies of Beowulf. I was pretty disappointed.

The Dell PS3 deal appears to be dead for the moment. Dammit. That’s what I get for waiting for wife approval before buying.
I was at Best Buy at 11:30 and they didn’t have any tables set up. All the sale titles were interspersed with the rest of the game. They did have a $14.99 bin with a healthy selection of Nintendogs clones, though.
Of the games on my list, all they had left was Infinite Undiscovery. I was hoping to snag DMC4 and Pure, but not only didn’t they have any in stock, they didn’t even appear in the computer any longer. So no rainchecks for me…
There were several other games with the same yellow Best Buy sticker on the top of the case, which I presume denotes closeout, including the Soldier of Fortune 360/Rambo DVD double-pack. But I hated the game and don’t really like Rambo all that much, so thanks, but no thanks, Best Buy. And I’m only taking one of your hundreds of leftover copies of Rock Revolution if you pay me $10.

Jumped on the Orange Box deal anyways; figure I’m getting a new computer this summer, and its only 10 dollars, which I can justify.
However, now I’m probably going to have a Half Life 2 and Episode 1 gift code, since I already own them (I own half life 2 on the original Xbox as well, and have played through the Orange box on 360, so I’m not missing anything).
Anyone want them?
