Why should they bother? With the closing of Circuit City they’re basically uncontested in most markets. There simply isn’t any competition.

That’s true. Target rarely runs good deals on games and Gamestop never does.

You’re right, and perhaps they shouldn’t bother. But I’m sure I’m not the only one who would buy more frequently from them if they did.

I can’t even remember the last PC game I bought from them…

FWIW, Best Buy does have the occasional good PC deal, but oftentimes they’re not advertised. E.g., they had Stalker Clear Sky for $10 a while back. Also, they offer coupons as part of their Reward Zone Gamers Club which can sometimes be combined with sale prices to get a good deal: e.g., a couple months ago you could get Red Alert 3 for $10 on one Sunday. Their current coupon is for $10 off FEAR 2 (PC), Godfather II (360 & PS3), MadWorld, and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

Sold! Mostly so I can rewatch the Ivanova sex scene over and over and over again.

Acts of Sacrifice

Amazon has the 360 wireless adapter for $75.99 and a black or white 360 wireless controller for $31.99. Both of these prices are the lowest I’ve seen them.

ARGH!!! I missed it. It’s already back at 200 bucks!!!

Jorune

Yeah, those Gold Box deals last a day at most.

You can probably do that on Youtube.

Yeah, I check that on occasion. And I ordered Stalker: Clear Sky during that sale. It still hasn’t arrived.

Same here. BB also failed to deliver Mount and Blade to me in the same fashion.

No b&m sales and piss poor customer service in their online business. I guess I go with steam for future purchases. <blank> BB.

As soon as it does arrive I’ll just return it, anyway. If I don’t cancel it before hand.

Got it from NewEgg for $3.

Newegg is selling off a decent title set for about 10 bucks a piece.

Hey, Storm of Zehir is $13.99!

GOG.com is offering 25% off a few Apogee titles.

They had me at Rise of the Triad.

BigFishGames is giving away a bunch of stuff, including Fairway Solitaire, which is excellent. Free and awesome go good together.

L4D will be free tomorrow.

Sweet!

Finally my PC copy of L4D has some hope of getting played. Since it’ll be free for everyone, I’m going to suggest to my regular L4D friday night crew of friends that they download something called “Steam” and try playing L4D on the PC for once. I think they think of the PC as something that exclusively meant for turn-based strategy games and real-time strategy games though, so it might still be a tough sell.

Good lord Blake Stone. Must resist.
