definitely going to have to pick up all 3.

GamersGate deals…

Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance 50% Off ($9.95)
Elven Legacy - only 14.99
Lost Empire Immortals - only 1.99

I eyed this since it came out but being broke prevented me from buying at 29.99$. I was just waiting for such a price cut.
Now I feel guilty for not supporting the devs with full price…

Be careful paying with a credit card on Gamersgate. Their stupid payment processor marks them as cash advances and your (my) credit card company hits with a ton of charges.

I just had not had time to play Elven Legacy so I never had a chance to pick it up. Excellent deal!

Steam now has Civ 4 Complete Edition for $35.99. Includes Civ 4 + Expansions and Colonization. Good buy for someone who doesn’t own these yet.

Ooh, that’s very good to know.

I wonder if there’s any reason to get Fantasy Wars now that Elven Legacy is out and cheap.

Well, I’m pretty sure Elven Legacy doesn’t include any of the missions from Fantasy Wars, so if you have both you have twice as much content.

PS3 owners: Ragdoll Kung Fu is free to download before next Thursday, and during the same time frame Bionic Commando Rearmed is down to $5.

I haven’t played any of the Civ4 games (love Civ 1-3, Colonisation, Alpha Centauri). I’ve read that the Beyond the Sword expansion (standalone?) runs better than Civ4 vanilla - would I be missing out if I only purchased BtS and didn’t buy Colonisation & Warlords? Or is the $35 pack really that great?

Beyond The Sword isn’t standalone, you need the original Civ4 release, but Warlords is optional. All of the Warlords features are in BtS, and you’d just miss out on the scenarios in it. But if you’re getting it from Steam, the complete pack price is the same as just Civ4+BtS, so you may as well get them all anyway.

I should check this thread more often. I live in Watertown.

Today’s Amazon Deal of the Day is Persona 4, which I’ve always heard is spectacular, but keep putting off for some reason. Aside from the dubbing, that is.

For something a little different: today’s Game du Jour is Heileen for $10. Heileen is an OEL (original English language) visual novel with a female protagonist which seems to go for a “bodice ripper lite” vibe. [What was the last adventure game to do that - Plundered Hearts?]

$10 more off and I’d get it just to have in my collection. But realizing that I’m unlikely to actually play through the entire 100 hour game, I’m gonna show some restraint and not spend the $30.

If it’s anywhere near 100 hours for the average player, I’d say that’s all the more reason $30 is fine. I’m not opposed to paying a bit more for a game that I won’t finish as long as I have a lot that I enjoy with it.

That makes perfect sense. I’m certainly not arguing that $30 isn’t a good deal for Persona 4. It’s just not a low enough price for me personally to grab it on an impulse just to have it. If I was a 15 year old with summer vacation looming, I’d jump all over it, but I think the phase of my life where I spend 100 hours with a game is long gone, if I ever had such a phase.

EBGames/Gamestop is going to have Madworld (Wii) for $29.99 this weekend.

I am at 109 hours and I have not finished it.
