How’s combat in Assassin’s Creed on the PC? I already played it through on the 360 (rented), but … I get the occasional hankering for open world stab’em’up. 10 bucks is almost impulse, unless combat is horrible.
I don’t have a gamepad.
It’s basically the same, though the key config is a little odd. But otherwise the gamepad commands are mapped directly onto the mouse and keyboard.
ARGH! Flock is bundled with Securom. Damn impulse buy. :<

For someone who already has Trials 2, is Monster Truck Nitro worth $4.50?

No. It’s a pale shadow of Trials 2.

Thanks, thats kind of the impression I was getting. I’ll save the $5 and keep enjoying Trials 2.
Is this the one Steam is selling?
It has Securom and SteamDRM?
I really don’t get the third-party DRM stuff with Steam. Steam is already DRM, so what’s the point? Do they really think that you’re going to give 20 people your Steam ID and password, have everyone set Steam on their PCs to offline mode and thus somehow decrease their potential sales?
I’ve read on forums that steam drm is trivial to by pass. The trick is getting that. Thats why so many hijack peoples’ account, download their collection, and then just rip the protection off in mass. I don’t know how true it is though.
Steam DRM is roughly as trivial as any other DRM, but because of the way it’s structured pirate groups can’t just release a crack with a patched executable and maybe one or two other files. Which is inconvenient, thus means that if there’s a non-Steam release they’ll crack that instead.
Back to the GamersGate slow downloads–this is really pretty ridiculous, especially how you have to keep babysitting it because the download pauses itself all the time. At this rate I’ll have Men of War by the 4th of July, maybe.
That sucks. I downloaded the copy I ordered in less than thirty minutes. Of course, then I had to spend half an hour on the phone with my credit card company reversing a fee because GamersGate decided to process my CC payment as a frickin’ cash advance.
Has this happened to anyone else using GamersGate? I’d advise you to check your statement closely because the $10 fee kind of negated any bargain this may have been (the CC company eventually reversed the fee when I told them I wanted to initiate a payment dispute with GamersGate).

Yeah, a couple people here have had that problem.
I’ve seen that particular complaint often enough that I’m not willing to order from GamersGate at all.

yeah, i’ve heard that happens to a lot of peeps who buy from gamersgate. i make sure to use PayPal with them.
I used PayPal myself, because I’d heard of that ridiculous bit of BS (the cash advance thing). They’re a division of Paradox interactive, a Swedish publisher, so regular credit card payment transactions should be a regular enough thing with them.
I’ve never had any problems using PayPal with them, and while I’m not PayPal’s biggest fan I don’t see any particular downside to that method.
