I’ve got a 27" Olevia LCD, also a refurb, and despite its occasional quirks, I love it. It’s got great picture quality for the price. It doesn’t have anywhere near enough connectors, though, but that’s what switches are made for.

I considered ordering it to replace the 27" flat tube SDTV we have in the living room, but I want a 32" in there when it’s time to upgrade. I already have the 42" in the basement with all the game systems, so no need to rush for something upstairs.

32" is good to wait for. Apparently they use better panels starting at that size.

I appreciate it, too. However, I usually analyze purchases to the point of paralysis. Used to I was more impulsive, but I seem to have become even more thrifty. I have not bought a lot of games for the Wii as it is mostly for the family as a whole. Everyone has raved about HotD:O and I wanted to play it gore and all, but had successfully waited. Today I broke.

It was worth breaking for. I still love HotD 2/3, but man, this is a completely different game. It’s hard to go back, honestly, as good as the others are. They just don’t have the…kick, that this one does.

Target has buy 2 get 1 free on PSP/PS2/PS3 games starting on Sunday.

A friend and I are going to go in on this to get our copies of Infamous. Just debating what else to get. Any suggestions? (Already have Uncharted, LBP, Ratchet, and I wasn’t real impressed with the Killzone demo controls-wise. Also, I hate MGS.)

You can still get HL2 DM and Lost Coast for free if you’ve got an ATI/AMD or NVIDIA graphics card:

NVIDIA: http://www.steamgames.com/nvidia
ATI/AMD: http://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a

Since someone was kind enough to gift me a copy of HL2 (thanks marxeil), these freebies have gone a long way. You can play any HL2 mod with these installed.

Today (6/3) only: Guitar Hero Metallica w/mic & drum (but no guitar) for $100 shipped from Red Octane (Wii, X360 - sorry, no PS3 love). Good deal if you’ve already got guitars - and, of course, want GH:M in the first place.

EDIT: which has the best faux-drum set, GH or RB?

Amazon has Little Big Planet for $45.99.

Fry’s is blowing out Airlink 101 products. I picked up a USB to ethernet adapter for $.90 (plenty at the Garland Fry’s) and a bluetooth 2.0 adapter (last one) for the same price.

When I get home, I’ll test the adapter on the Wii and see if it works.

EBGames.com is offering free overnight shipping on a bunch of titles announced/shown at E3. Titles include Metroid: Other M, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Forza 3, Left 4 Dead 2 and Halo 3: ODST GameStop Exclusive Collectors Pack. Enter coupon code 2009E3.

It was 30 bucks this morning.

I was so busy at work this morning, when I check the Amazon DotD, LBP was apparently sold out. I noticed the $45.99 price when I went back to Amazon later in the day.

Yesterday, LBP was $36, just normal price from Amazon.

There are banks you can use that offer slightly better interest rates on your money than EB will.

They don’t charge your card til shipping time, though.
