Why the hell is Mario Galaxy 2 priced at 59.99?!

I guess it must be in HD!

Because it features nearly 90% all new content!

As was pointed out, you’re not charged until the game actually ships. These free overnight shipping deals have been good for some that aren’t Amazon Prime members. I know you get upset when posts don’t have to do with actual deals, but are you now also moderating which deals are worthy of posting?

If you click on the Mario Galaxy 2 link, it’s actually $49.99. I dunno why it says $59.99 on the deal page.

Gamersgate has King’s Bounty for $10: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-KB/kings-bounty-the-legend

For EU PS3 owners:

Killzone 2 : 39.93 euro

Fallout 3 : 35.09 euro

Little big planet : 26.62 euro

Metal Gear Solid 4 : 27.83 euro

They have online shops all over Europe and are very cheap in most hardware - they only carry a limited amount of games though.

GOG’s weekend deal is Gothic and Gothic 2 for $7.49 each.

Via @GamerDeals Twitter feed, Walmart has You’re in the Movies with Vision Camera for $9.82. With tax and shipping it’s less than $15 for me here in Michigan. Apparently you can pickup in store as well.

Sort of a weird deal, again via @GamerDeals Twitter Feed. Best Buy has Sims 3 cash cards for 50% off, so you can buy $10.00 cards for $5.00. Per @GamerDeals you can redeem these cards online and buy The Sims 3 via direct download from the EA Store using the redeemed value of the cards. So if you buy $50 worth of cards for $25 and then redeem them for $50 in credit at the EA Store, you can pay for The Sims 3 and download it for a real cost of $25.

But then you have to pay for the right to download it again, right?

I don’t know anything about the DRM situation with The Sims 3 or the EA Store. Is that the case?

Booyah!!! Great deal. Thanks.

Ten bucks seems pretty cheap - but is it worth it at this point with Natal around the corner? Are there many games that take advantage of the camera?

The EA Store is pretty sleazy in that regard. At checkout, they try to sell you ‘insurance’ to be able to download the game again in the future, suggesting that you can’t otherwise just re-download it through your account history without purchasing again.

Don’t know how it actually works in practice, but it’s lame.

I would be so all over that Xbox Camera thing if it included a mic. I really need a new webcam.

The best uses for the camera right now are for games like Rainbow Six Vegas and Tiger Woods. Both allow you to map your likeness into the game, which is actually cooler than it sounds. It’s just different when you see yourself playing golf up there, or killing terrorists. And if you can get the game to go along (it usually rejects images where you’re making too strange a face), it’s awesome if you can get a goofy face plastered onto your online persona. It makes for a lot of hilarity during Terrorist Hunts.

The other good use for it is during social XBLA games. Instead of showing a giant gamer-picture that represents you, it instead shows the input from the camera instead, which some of my friends have made some hilarious use out of by point it at toy ducks and sometimes just showing you their living room. It’s great during games like Carcassonne, Catan, etc.

The camera is worth the $10 for exactly the reasons Rock8 mentioned. I love seeing my own face in Rainbow Six Vegas. I already have a camera, so I’ll just be passing it on to my brother. Also, I’m thinking You’re in the Movies could be a fun game to play when a few friends are over and the drinks are flowing.

Doesn’t seem like much a deal. You’re on the hook for a game because you get free shipping? Yeah, it saves you money… in 2010 when some of these games ship. I guess I’d just rather that people post actual savings you can get today on games available now.

I like posts with price drops, but two get one free, off the beaten path locations selling PC games for cheap, weekly specials on Steam or GOG, etc.

One for the Canucks: Futureshop will have several X360 games on sale for $10 starting Friday (6/5), including Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Dead Space. Not sure if these are new or used.

It’s Steve’s thread anyway, Dave.

Best Buy has similarly had it priced at $9.99 for several weeks now, if you can find it. That’s where I got mine.

All I can say is that some people disagree with you and appreciate free overnight shipping. That “deal” is almost always offered fairly far ahead of time, but you’re in no way committed or “on the hook”. If a better deal comes up or you decide you don’t want the game, you can cancel online. No call to customer support needed. No problems.
