Also the new Splinter Cell game made me wonder about the others, which I have never played. Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell: Double Agent are $5 each on Steam currently.

i think they’re radically different. i myself loved the first one, but it was a kind of trail and error adventure in frustration and ludicrous situations.
And everything I’ve heard suggests the PC version of Double Agent is broken and even the next-gen console versions are surpassed by the Xbox/PS2 version (which is, unannounced and slightly mystifyingly, a completely different game under the same title). Unfortunately, I will probably not be playing any version of it if the PC version stinks, as I don’t think I could tolerate Splinter Cell if I had to rely on console controls and checkpoint saves.
I nearly bought one of the Penumbra games for $6.00 the other day. There’s no way I’m passing up $5.00 for all of them.
Sold, and thank you. I always thought that was a quirky little title since it was just a tech demo.

I’ve been eying Penumbra for awhile since it came to Steam, bought it without blinking an eye.
Ok, I’m pretty intrigued by Penumbra too… Anyone cares to explain what kind of game it is ?
Best Buy has Ghostbusters PC version listed at 30.00 if you pre-order. here
That’s 10 dollars cheaper than the PC listing and a nice drop off from the 360/ps3 version.
I just wonder if it was an afterthought to the console versions and may come with baggage.
edit: It’s store pick-up only

To be simple, it’s a First-Person-Adventure game.
It’s played out in a first person view, with major gameplay being the finding/combining/use of various objects you find throughout to solve puzzles.
The first game involves a modicrum of fighting, the latter ones having none. They involve ‘Valve’ style physics and some of those puzzles involve using those physics as gameplay.
As for $20 for each game, yeah, it’s not worth it. But for $5?? Easily a great deal.
Is the PC version actually coming out this month? I thought Sony wanted the June release to be a Playstation exclusive with the other versions coming out later in the year.
YMMV on this obviously, but I just got back from my local Toys R Us (Madison Heights, MI) where they had the PS3 versions of Singstar Vol. 1 w/mics for $5.99 and Singstar Vol. 2 w/mics for $9.99. I bought both. For anyone looking to go to that particular TRU, there is still at least one Vol. 2 package, but I bought the last Vol. 1. They also had GH: Aerosmith (360) for $9.99.
GoGamer has it for preorder for the same price.
According to Best Buy, it came out last October… But GoGamer says June 16.

Ymmv but the holmdel nj best buy has a ton of collectors editions half off. I got 007 for $15 saints row for $25 and a few more too. There is a big display holding stuff for all three consoles at the front door.
All of the versions were being worked on simultaneously.
Just in Europe where they are publishers for the Playstation versions. In North America it is still an Atari published game.

They were only 30% off at the Watertown, MA BB. They had Saints Row 2, Quantum of Solace, GoW2, Fallout 3, and some others.
They also had Hanna Montana gimme hats, and posters from some Pixar movie that wasn’t specified (probably Wall-E) on the shelf. It looked like free promotional stuff that hadn’t moved.
So what’s the best way to buy Prototype this week, if the reviews are as positive as we’re hoping they’ll be?
The best way I’ve found so far is Toys R Us. They’re offering a $20 gift card with your purchase if you buy Prototype on any system. That’s going to be tough to beat, unless you never plan on buying anything from Toys R Us ever, in which case a $20 gift card is meaningless I guess.
Dean, I think they had the lunchbox version of Fallout 3 for 30% off when I saw it a weekish ago. Scary how close to me you live…
One of NewEgg.com’s Shell Shocker deals today is an Acer H233Hbmid Black 23" 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor (5ms, HDMI, 300 cd/m2, 40000:1, Built in Speakers) for $175.99. I almost bought this exact monitor this weekend at Best Buy for $219.99 and held off, but for this price, I think it’s time to upgrade from my 19" 4:3 LCD.
