Gamersgate has a huge IC Company sale this week:

http://www.gamersgate.com/special-offers

Men of War, Kings Bounty, Cryostasis all around $12. Necrovision around $8. all kinds of good stuff.

any recommendation for some of the more obscure IC titles on sale?

Nice! I’d love to give Cryostasis a go, but I’m a little worried about technical problems.

Cryostasis has a demo: plenty of time to give it a whirl to see if it works (and if you like it, of course) before the sales ends.

GG must be clearing out their warehouse of bits full of Men of War. They keep tempting me at $12. Might play it along with Age of Wonders for the strategy category of my backlog games this month. (I’m a list-making nerd.)

RPS made the humorous observation that King’s Bounty is frequently for sale! For Cryostasis I’m just tempted to watch a Let’s Play or something.

I see they have all those bad Jagged Alliance clones in there. Death to Spies was supposed to be like Commandos in 3D, but I think it was reviewed as kind of lackluster. They have Space Rangers 2 but no Reboot. The XCOM clone UFO series is only 10 bucks, not bad if you’re an addict.

Is Fantasy Wars ever available for cheaper than 10 bucks? I see it’s more than that even at Half.com.

Again, I’m thrilled to see them reacting to Valve’s sales pricing wisdom. An entire publisher catalog is pretty impressive, even if some of the games are maybe 5 bucks still too high for impulse purchases.

Nice. Thanks unbongwah.

That’s the cheapest I’ve seen it. For the Luddites, Newegg also has it for $10.

Is Fantasy Wars still worth playing; or can one skip it for Elven Legacy instead?

Thanks, I probably will get it from Newegg and stick the disc in my 3-ring binder.

They seem like the same game to me. Just happens to be that FW is cheaper!

Both my Target and Best Buy suck for clearance. In fact, I can swear on anything important that you would like that we do not even have a clearance rack at our Target.

Next time I’m at the nearest Target stores, I’m going to take photos of their racks. :)

I did that once. But it wasn’t at Target.

Booth babes promoting the latest console fighting game?

I went by Target and Bestbuy today, no love on COD4 so I picked up Punchout and Civ4 Complete. Target had one small section or “rack” full of ps2 and DS games but maybe three 360 games total. Bestbuy did have crysis warhead on a spring special for $10.

The game/electronics clearance rack at my Target is a wall facing endcap on the aisle with mp3 players and cell phones in it. They’re always pretty out of the way.

And depending on the time of year, pickings can be generous or slim. New inventory appears to push out the old, non-selling stuff.

And it varies store by store as to what gets clearanced. I can find a copy of Saints Row 2 for $10 at one store that’s still full price at a Target less than 5 miles away.

As mentioned in the Rock Band thread, Gamestop is having a big sale on their music games that they still have in their warehouse “that looked banged up on the outside, but are totally new”. Rock Band 2 SE bundle is selling for $80 according to Slickdeals, once you use the code “CAG16” to get an additional discount. Here is the Rock Band 2 SE bundle for the 360.

Unfortunately, I can’t get free shipping to show up in my cart. I’ve emailed them about it, let’s see what they say. It’s supposed to be free 3-day ground shipping on these bundles, but shipping charges continue to show in my cart no matter what shipping option I chose.

Gamersgate has a game called You Are Empty which has the most amazing boxart ever.

I never want to play this game. I just want to keep this image in my mind as a perfect jewel and imagine all the awesome hypothetical gameplay.

it says cag16 is 16% off all used games.

it doesn’t apply.

It worked for me. In my cart, it reduced the price of the Rock Band 2 SE bundle by almost $16. But maybe it was this code that prevented the free shipping from kicking in? If that’s the case, it’s still cheaper to use CAG16 than to get just free shipping.

The pose of the skeleton pointing at the viewer is a direct allusion to a famous WW2 Soviet war propaganda poster.

According to Wiki, the whole game is done in this style.

This is why the East Europeans have some nice untapped potential for stories and themes we don’t see very often in every game about Liberty City or colonial Europe. Outfits like GSC Gameworld have said they like making games about Chernobyl but don’t realize they can be exciting to the rest of the world too. (Well, except Japan.)
