Here is the easy cursor hack I had to use to slow Majesty down to a more manageable speed:


The game scrolls too fast!

Select Run from the Start menu.
Type “regedit” [enter].
Select Find from the Edit menu and search for “majesty”.
Select the Majesty folder (and/or the Majesty Expansion folder) in the Cyberlore folder.
Find the entry ScrollSpeed and double-click it
Change the default value to something lower (like 5).

It works under Vista 64 bit for me. I think there was a cursor registry hack I had to apply to slow it down, can’t really remember. I know it works though, just ran it to be sure.

Regarding Majesty Gold…

Since it appears the Northern Expansion contains all the content of Majesty, is it best to ignore the Majesty executable and just run the Northern Expansion executable?

I couldn’t resist this deal, since I’d been waiting for the PC version anyway. The one caveat is that you don’t get the two free games until the preorder is charged, as you noted, but the preorder won’t be charged until the release date, so you don’t have the chance to play through the first two ahead of time.

Among other things it includes a double pack of HoMMs 3 (complete with expansions) and 4 (who cares) for 8 bucks, if there’s anyone out there who hasn’t played HoMM 3 yet. Also, there’s the recent Prince of Persia game for under 15–is that worth getting on PC or should I just get the 360 version (how buggy is the PC one, in other words)?

From what I can tell, the PC version of PoP is exactly like the 360 one. I haven’t noticed any bugs, and it looks spectacular at the higher PC resolution.

I was all about that HOMM package (I’ve got HOMMIII Complete…for Mac, which doesn’t help much these days, and I’ve got HOMMIV, but not the expansions.). But more importantly for me, there’s a $2 Microsoft Optical Mouse in GoGamer’s sale. I’ve been using Microsoft optical mice for years, and they’re great, but the one I’ve got hooked up to my Mac is starting to freak out and randomly doubleclick, or click on things without my pressing anything, so a $2 replacement is greatly appreciated.

Damn, I was hoping for an Arma2 pre-order bargain from GoGamer. I’d like to get that retail for some reason. And I initially read Rise of Flight to be $26.90, bummer.

Thinking about grabbing Age of Mythology Gold for $6. More strategy games for the backlog are the last thing I need but I know people here like it and Majesty.

I’d buy it on 360 if I was you. The DLC isn’t available on PC.

So did I. And I would have jumped at that price. $36.90 is more than I’m looking to commit to without seeing some reviews first.

I wish they’d drop the price of The Sims 3 a bit more. I’d really love to play that, but The Sims 2 is still good enough for me. $30.00 or below and I’ll trade up.
