That’s pretty darn tempting actually.

I just checked to see if ECA codes for Amazon are working yet… and they’re not. Damn it! Steve already used them all up! I only got to use two codes. Hopefully they’ll have them up and running again soon.

I grabbed it. It seems worth $23 to have a light RPG thingy hanging around for a rainy day.

I went to get a code and found them to be out as well. ARGH! I swear it wasn’t me that used them all up this time.

It isn’t MSUSteve’s fault (this time): according to Hal Halpin, ECA president, the last batch of codes expired at the end of June (ironically, before they ran out of codes). Amazon is whipping up a new batch, but no word yet on exactly when they’ll be available.

Would it be naive of me to ask why there isn’t some automated process for that?

Must they be forged in the heart of Mount Olympus and cooled by Seattle rains before being borne upon the wings of Amazonian Pegasi? Or some other thing?

I remain somewhat surprised at the awesomeness of the Amazon codes through the ECA. I wonder how that arrangement was made. It seems to me that it benefits the ECA far more than it does Amazon.

Nice, been waiting for this one to drop in price. Hoping to finally get a 360 JRPG that doesn’t suck.

Yes, I jumped on this price this morning after being alerted to its drop when viewing my cart. Here’s a tip for those who are interested in a title, but only after its price has dropped: put the item(s) in your cart, and then click “Save for later” next to the item in your cart. Thereafter, every time you view your cart, you’ll be alerted to prices changes for items you “saved for later” since you last viewed your cart.

Gamestop has lots of games for $20 or less: a few standouts are Oblivion GotY (PS3), EndWar, HAWX, Prince of Persia, and Bionic Commando. Also: $100 off Guitar Hero World Tour kits until July 12th.

I don’t have a band game. I want a band game.

What should I spend my money on? Rock Band 1 kits are around 100, this is around 100?

What to buy?

I dig Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Haven’t played Guitar Hero World Tour, but I have played Guitar Hero 2 and 3. I find the Rock Band games a lot easier on the eyes, and notes/charts/staff/whatever more “fun” to play…but that’s kind of a nebulous distinction. If you don’t mind the look of either one, I’d say get whichever has the most songs you like.

Have you played any of them? You work in Verona, I live in Verona…just sayin’…

Impulse just started a Meridian4 50% off sale, similar to the Steam one. Granted not a lot of overly exciting games there, but a second chance to pick up something you may have missed from last weeks sale (Shadowground series is fairly decent, etc).

If you can buy only one, Rock Band 2 is the clear favorite. You should’ve asked a month or so ago, though: Gamestop had RB2 on sale for half-price.

I saw that but 100 bucks was too much. 90 bucks is a bit closer to reality… I just wasn’t ready to jump in then.

I didn’t know Meridian4 had Obulis. I bought that for my wife to play because I think she saw me trying the demo. She spent a lot of time on it for a couple of days and then quit.

I guess I should check out Chains, though Impulse only has it on sale for $4. :)

I work at Epic… and we should totally hang out some time. You need to come to the comedy club some time and hang with flowers and I… (though these last 2 weeks have been uber busy at work with the 2009 release in its last few weeks of QA)

I would love to rockband, I used to play over at Reldan’s… but he moved to GA… :(

Note that Impulse appears to have quite a few Meridian4 games Steam doesn’t, so don’t dismiss it just because you already bought what you wanted from the Steam sale.

Woo, Bus Driver!

I am tempted by the Hard Truck Apocalypse games though, as I vaguely remember them getting some positive reactions around here.

Gamestop summer sale is going on now. Looks like some pretty good deals, including Bionic Commando for $20.
