Amazon’s Deal of the Day is Prototype (360 & PS3) for $39.98 and on the PC for $29.98.

BC is now showing as $50, because it’s sold out online and that’s the used price.

Thank you very much, Steve! Purchased! We just finished Infamous and have been playing the evil side, but this should be much better than replaying a game!

Today’s Game du Jour: Spectromancer for $8. Is this any good? Can it be played solo or is it MP-only?

Paging Tim James: Gamersgate has Titan Quest Gold for $10 this weekend. Also Eve Online Apocrypha for $7.50. Today’s deal is Europa Universalis III Complete for $14.

I have probably played over 1000 games of this. I love it for a quick gaming fix while I’m doing something else. Some of the cards are over/undercosted but other than that, it’s a lot of fun.

Spectromancer is totally worth $8. Great game.

Wow, that’s great … Did … Did I buy that already?

Damn. This is a serious consequence of aggressive digital pricing. Fuck it, I’ll have it twice.

Nahh maybe I’ll just wait! :)

Actually now I’m tempted to grab it from my favorite half.com seller even if it’s an extra $5 shipped. I’m such a terrible whiny Internet kid that doesn’t even follow through, I know.

I picked up Spectromancer this morning. Mentioned it in the game thread but glad someone threw it in here too.

GamersGate is the one that might charge you as a cash advance, right? How do you avoid that? I’ve purchased from them before, and, honestly, I don’t keep up with my statements enough to know whether something funny happened with those particular transactions - but I sure don’t recall seeing anything unusual show up …

Pay with PayPal.

Is EU3 the best one for someone new to the series? I actually own EU2, but I’ve never played it (got it used in a bundel). I also own the first Guild game, but haven’t played it. I keep wanting to try this series, and this is a good deal.

I would say that EU:Rome is the simplest and is a good choice for someone who is new to Paradox games. EU3 can be quite a complex game depending how deep you delve into it. It also helps to have an interest in the time period.

As far as the EU series goes, EU3 is the first one I’ve played. It took a while for me to get the hang of how you are actually supposed to play it. Once I got through that, it turned out to be one of my favorite games.

For that price you can’t beat it.

No kidding … I’d tried it before but was put off quite a bit by issues with merchants and colonization. I’d been told that the cumulative expansions solved those issues, but was unwilling to put up, like, sixty bucks for the total package.

So this is just awesome. Fourteen bucks? I can put up with any little funks for that.

Danke sehr, Citizn … Done.

The one on 75 in Dallas had a few things like Grid, Bully, Legendary, BoB: Hell’s Highway, R6:2 and GRAW 2. Also, all copies of LOTRO (collectors, moria, original) and LOTRO 60-day time cards. Looks like they’re getting out of the LOTRO business.

Were the 60-day LOTRO time cards also $10, Rick?

I just bought ArmA 2 for 17 pounds WITH shipping from UK to Czech republic, on zavvi.co.uk

It costs exactly double that amount here, or on all the download services…crazy.

I posted this in the MechWarrior thread, but I suppose I should also mention here that there are plans to release MW4 for free on battletech.com. Er, apparently not actually available just yet, but probably soonish as its tied to the Battletech 25th anniversary.

Speaking of free, Peggle: World of Warcraft edition.

I didn’t have them price checked, but everything else with the stickers on them was $10. They had 5 when I left.

i may have to find a new york city best buy then

Thanks, man. I finally picked up The Force Unleashed, now that it’s hit the magic $19.99 price point.
