I really, really wish that if Amazon’s out of a game and showing the price of some affiliated seller that they would a) make this really clear when browsing and b) add in the shipping price. I was about to post about a crazy $7 Blue Dragon deal and then it turned out that it was from “hitgaming.com” and they were charging $8 shipping. $15 isn’t bad for Blue Dragon or anything, but it’s not -nearly- as exciting.

Especially since Newegg still has Blue Dragon for $11.

Shrapnel Games Sales…is it time for Dominions III for those of us ginormously late to the party? $8 off it and discounts on most if not all of their games. And those guys do not have sales…ever.

Cary, NC Best Buy still had scads of LotRO, especially the Mines of Moria CE. I picked that up for $10 – I figure the “fluff” inside (fake one ring, soundtrack CD, art booklet, cloth (!) map) was worth that to me alone. It’s sad that my heart skipped a beat when I opened the cloth map – brought back some damn fine Ultima memories. =/

Did the CE of Shadows of Angmar have a cloth map of Middle-Earth similar to the cloth map of Moria in this package? If so I may try and track that down as well.

I’d personally recommend buying it on Amazon. (Which is what I did, not too long ago.) Their price for it is a consistent $50. A little bit higher than the sale price of $47, buuuut…Amazon will ship it to you free. And very quickly, if you have Prime. I’m unable to find details on Shrapnel’s webstore, but I doubt they have comparable shipping price and speed because, well, they’re not Amazon.

Red Faction Guerrilla 360 $40 on Newegg yet again, if anyone who wanted it the first two times missed it. Twice.

Edit: Also apparently $40 on Amazon now. Since both places have free shipping it’s pretty much just down to who you like more, but I guess if you’ve got one of those 10% off codes for Amazon it would be a hair better.

Gamersgate’s newest daily deal is prince of persia (the newest one) for $14.95 - http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-PRINCE/prince-of-persia

And the Steam weekend deal is…GRID for $15.

Is that even remotely playable with a keyboard and mouse? I’m interested, but kind of worried that I wouldn’t get anywhere with it without at least using a gamepad.

I used to play Need For Speed Series on the PC with a joystick or sometimes just the keyboard. I don’t think the mouse was involved at all. It’s a LOT more fun with 360 pad, since you’ve got two full analog triggers that serve as the brakes and accelerator. I wouldn’t recommend going the keyboard route. It’s just not satisfying to drive digitally like that, tapping on buttons. It is playable though.

No, but you can take your savings to pick up a 360 pad to play this excellent arcade racing game. GRID is one of the best racing games to come out in the last couple of years.

I got it for free but couldn’t get involved with it. Already too high-society with my sims and now missing out good gaming. :(

Thanks for the feedback. I think I’m gonna go ahead and pick it up, in no small part since I’m about due to buy a PC gaming pad anyway. The fact that it will look fantastic on my new system helps too.

If you’re into drawing cartoons (Japanimation or Southpark looking stuff in particular) you might want to download this program for free:
Anime Studio ver 5

I have no idea if the program is awesome or if it sucks, since I don’t really watch or draw this stuff, but it’s free. So do with it what you will.

EDIT: Although it mentions during the download process about this being a '30 day trial that will charge your card if you choose to keep using it" don’t be confused. It doesn’t require a credit card to download, it doesn’t require a valid email address either, as soon as you ‘checkout’ for the $0.00 price you get the serial number on your screen, you can just cut and paste it into the program after install.

No credit card, no fee, no demo. I think they just forgot to update the part of the shopping cart that mentions this.

Wow, you’re not kidding, there are games on there that are seven years old and still going for $45.

All the love for Dominions 3 has kind of intrigued me, but is there any danger of there being a Dominions 4 right around the corner? The timing seems about right, and the devs have been tight-lipped about what they’re working on (they haven’t denied it, at least).

GoGamer has Blood Bowl (International Version) for $27.90

Presumably not dodgy CD keys hacked/gathered from third world countries.

GameStop / EBGames has Guitar Hero World tour full band kits for $89.99 (wii/360/ps3) and $79.99 (ps2).

Rock Band 2 full band kit is $139.99.

Through Sunday July 12, one per customer…

I don’t regularly read the Dom 3 forums, but I was under the impression that the developers have stated that their current project is not Dominions 4, & there are no current plans to work on such a project.

I haven’t read through the whole thread, but this seems the most recent. I don’t think you are in danger, unless the developers are filthy liars.

Sigh, if only the xbox version would drop down to that price or 19.99.

Amazon’s Video Game Deal of the Day is Sacred 2, all platforms. The console versions are $48, the PC one is $40. I mention this more because it’s a quality game than because it’s a quality discount.
