There’s a cheese tactic which will get you through pretty much everything. Search around for it if you do get to a point where you’re stuck, so it doesn’t spoil the rest of the game for you.

Amazon is selling the new Ghostbusters Blu-ray for $9.99 after using the $5 off code GHOSTBLU.

This has Devil Survivor and Red Faction on sale as well (PS3 version). Is the PS3 version as good? I’m a bit more used to playing FPSs on the 360, though I’m not intrinsically opposed to the PS3, if the games are roughly the same and it controls well enough.

Droplitz is a steal at $5.

From all reports, the two versions are virtually identical. But if you say you’re used to playing FPSs on the 360 (as am I), I’d say it’s better to get it for the 360, just because for any game the less you have to think about the controls and just do them instinctively without thinking the more you are “in the game”. I don’t know if you have this problem like I do but whenever I’m playing a shooter on the PS3, I’m always wrestling somewhat with the controls, just because the sensitivity and feel of the analog sticks is different. There’s nothing the developer can really do about that, they will always feel different.

Also, if there’s even a chance that you might join us sometime in a Friday Night Fight with Red Faction, get the 360 version because, even in 2v2 games, the multiplayer is such a blast. Even basic team deathmatch is so much fun with destructible buildings and the different backpacks.

On the other hand, the PS3 version does reportedly control and look the same. So there’s nothing to recommend against.

Red Faction isn’t an FPS (3PS), and it plays just fine on the PS3, I think it’s virtually identical on both platforms.

New Egg still has Red Faction Guerrilla (360) for $40.

So, y’know, get that.

Hahahah. The Gogamer sale also has Stormrise for the 360 for $10. I remember a friend of mine bought that at full price at release. He’s always hoping that the next console RTS is going to be THE ONE. The one that lets us transition from playing RTS games on the PC to RTS games on the console, since it’s the one genre we still play multiplayer on the PC. It’s about the only thing keeping us tethered to our PCs. He’s especially desperate since he’d already declared PC Gaming dead permanently, but had to come back and buy a new PC once Supreme Commander came out.

Oh man, I was going to spend $10 to check that out but then I found a review that starts with the sentence : “This frustrating, broken mess is one of the worst strategy games in years.” Better to wait for a $5 sale maybe.

Tell him he should’ve bought EndWar instead, because Tom & I said so!

Yeah and the PC version is DX10 only.
Of course piracy killed it no question…

It’s $40 at Amazon too…and has been for a few days now, so I’m not sure if its permanent or what.

I finally caved though. I swear it’s the last game I’m buying this year. I promise. Really.

Seems this weekend’s Steam deal is all three Brothers in Arms games for $20 or the individual titles for half off.

I enjoyed playing through Hell’s Highway for the 360, despite not playing the other two in the series.

I enjoyed the BiA games, but there’s not much point in buying the first two if you’ve already played the third, unless all you want is more of the same only uglier and with dumber Germans.

Thanks for the heads up on Dark Spire; I was able to find one of the few left around here.

Impulse has a pretty good deal going on for Red Faction Guerilla: pre-order for $39.99 and receive Red Faction and Red Faction 2 for free. (Apologies if this has already been mentioned.)

As part of the “kids games” weekend deal Plants vs. Zombies is 25% off - $7.50.

Apparently that $2.50 drop is what I was waiting for… :-/

Best Buy Games has a promo going on called “Halloween in July” with 40% off all downloadable games if you use the promo code: “magicmystery” when purchasing.

Valid until July 20th, U.S. only.

EDIT: Their promo seems a bit misleading, since this code isn’t working for any of the games I’ve tried to use it on. It seems to only work specifically at http://bestbuygames.com (a ‘partner’ of Best Buy) , but not the games download section of BestBuy.com. The only games at BestBuyGames.com seem to be the typical yahoo games/casual shovel-ware type crap. This probably isn’t a very good promo unless you like this kind of stuff.

Wow. The art and title for “Chocolatier 2: Secret Ingredients” really gives me pause.

Pause in a ‘2 flavors one cone’ sort of way?

Put me down as another one to snag Dark Spire for $10. Thanks for the tip!

FYI: If it’s still marked higher in your location, it’ll ring for the lower price at the register.
