I tried the one near my work, and I suppose I’ll try another near my home tonight. I’d love to get it with a soundtrack, as the tracks I heard online I loved.
Jeez. 0/3 at Gamestop today for this. Apparently the South Sound region likes obscure classic style CRPG’s on their DS.
Nice… just snagged Mirror’s Edge! Thanks!

So I am going to pick up a few games for my PS3 which ones would be the best? From what I am reading Savage Moon and PixelJunk seem to be my best bets but how good is Wipeout? Anyone have any comments on the others listed up there?
You can check this thread for detailed impressions. Me and others liked it at first, but then stopped playing it when we realized we didn’t like some of the new mechanics like having to press left-right-left or right-left-right to activate boost. Others like it just fine. Obviously, I’d recommend against getting Wipeout, but you’ll get a wider range of opinions in that thread.
I love that the GoGamer sale has Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior tagged as “limit 1”. Because people are really going to be loading up on the worst FPS I have ever played and hawking them on eBay. Sure.
Wipeout is great. If you liked it before, you’ll like it now. It’s very much modeled after the PSP versions. The game I’d very much recommend is Eden. It’s about as close to zen as you’ll get this side of flower, it has a nice cooperate mode, and it’s a great example of PSN done right.
I own every game in the sale so here’s my opinions:
3 on 3 NHL Arcade- Really fun, simple NHL game. Good for $5 but if you plan to play any multiplayer at all then that’s not a good price, that’s a goddamn bargain.
Brain Challenge- Played only a little bit. It’s okay. If you like this sort of thing than I suppose for $5 it’s not bad.
Crash Commando- One of the most underappreciated games of last year. For $5 it’s a must. Multiplayer is still pretty active which attests to the games quality.
Flock- Never really put any time into it. But from my brief time playing, I wouldn’t pay more than $7.50 for it.
Pixeljunk Eden- Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. Might be the best platformer I’ve ever played.
Savage Moon- I haven’t really played it much, but if you were going to get a Tower Defense game on PSN, I think PJM and Comet Crash are better.
Wipeout HD- Gorgeous game. I didn’t mind the boost mechanic (this is the first time I heard that complaint) because Wipeout should be played with the D-Pad. It’s ridiculously fast and gorgeous. Worth the $15.
In case anyone else has no idea what this is about: it’s for sale on Steam.
Mirror’s Edge (PC)
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PC)
Each $5.90 at GoGamer (48hr Madness)
I just snagged both of them.
I would have, except I can’t imagine playing Mirror’s Edge without a gamepad, and I just picked it up for the 360 not too long ago. But I did spring for Mercenaries 2.

All the Brothers in Arms games on Steam for $20… can anyone vouch for these games being good? Reviews look pretty good, and I love WW2 stuff.
I played the first one on Xbox and liked it quite a bit. Haven’t played the sequels, but I’m very tempted by this deal based on how much I liked the first one, even on a console. I’m sure there are other games that are in the same kind of niche as BiA, but I can’t think of any. It’s basically what I wanted Full Spectrum Warrior to be.
I played the first two and loved them, just never got around to trying the latest. If you like tactical type FPSs and WW2, you should definitely give at least one of them a try. Just my opinion though.
I’ve only played the first. The concept is cool but you might get annoyed by the puzzle shooter gameplay, checkpoint saves, and cutscenes.
Today’s Game du Jour (www.gamedujour.com) is Aveyond 2 for $8. I’ve never played any of the Aveyond games, but I’ve heard they’re pretty solid indie JRPG-style games.
Saw that Battlefield Bad Company is $19 on Amazon (not really a deal, just the price now I think). I’m not really interested in the single player, but is the multiplayer worth that price and are there still people playing it?
Absolutely it’s worth it. I love BF:BC and still play it on PS3. Plenty of people on the servers. Buy it; beats the hell out of BF 1943’s 3 maps.
What? Can’t you people read my mind yet???

Aww, I was just gonna get that Mirror’s Edge but they are sold out at GoGamer :(
Yeah, they sold out of Blood Bowl (I) before I got it, too. Sadness. However, I did get Dark Spire at Gamestop today. My small town store only had one copy, but they probably only ever had one. The town only has 8-10k people or so. Oddly enough, they almost always have some obscure RPGs though. In the parking lot a woman was yelling at a “whore who likes to steal boyfriends”. She swung a baseball bat around and threatened to break the girl’s windshield. It was entertaining for about 30 seconds or so, until I realized she wouldn’t actually do it.
