There’s another 48-hour Madness up. They sure are good at just barely missing the mark with their sales, at least for my tastes. In this one there’s more than a couple of things where I’d love to pay that price but it’s the wrong platform. For example, Sacred 2 for $35. That’s a sweet price for a fun game that’s still consistently $55-60 elsewhere, and if it was the 360 version it’d be mine. But it’s the PS3 version and not only do I not know anyone else with a PS3, but even for local coop I’d need to buy another $50 controller. Fuck that.
5 below, a brick and mortar general discount store which sells a (usually odd) smattering of PC games for $5 each, had some tempting choices today. I was interested in A. Sim City Societies B. Diplomacy C. The Movies
Whine whine. It’s not the game’s fault you play alone. I’m just happy to have console games in the Madness at all.

Good price, great game, and activates on Steam. Good all around.
Uh, I don’t play alone. If I did, I’d have bought the PS3 version.
For a game that rarely deviates from its $54.95 price tag, Dominions 3 is currently on sale for $46.70 through August 31st. Also, use coupon code SAVE2 at checkout to save an additional 2%.
Deal of the week for Xbox Live Gold members is 25% off The Lost & Damned (add-on for GTA IV), which amounts to 1200 MSP.
Before you jump on it, know that Rockstar will be releasing a compilation disc featuring both of the DLC episodes for $40 on October 29th. It won’t require GTA IV to play and you can potentially resell it later instead of being stuck with digital copies.

Steam now has Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! together for $4.99!
Isn’t Ben There, Dan That freeware to begin with? I guess people who’re possibly interested can check that out first and see if they like it :)
Yes it is but if you are ordering the other game via their website they give you an option to send additional $3.50 for Ben There, Dan That stating that it’s not required to play the game but it’s a way to support the developers.

I must say, Amazon’s deal on Guitar Hero 5 looks pretty decent. Not only do you get Guitar Hero: Van Halen if you purchase in September, but you also get either one or two (I’m not sure; one looks like a general promo, the other looks GH5-specific) $5.00 MP3 download credits, plus $10.00 off a future game purchase.
EDIT: Looks like it is 2 x $5.00 on the MP3 credits.
So, for $59.99, you get two games, $10.00 worth of MP3 downloads, and $10.00 off your next game purchase. That’s a hell of a bargain.

Great deals at GamersGate this weekend.
Grand Ages: Rome for $17.89
AI War: Fleet Command for $13.95
All Gothic games 40% off!
Gothic 2 Gold is really tempting at $6. Worth it?
Gothic 2 is absolutely wunderbar.
Then maybe you should start with the first one, which is also a stunning game, and much easier to start with than Gothic 2 gold.
Is there any DRM on the Gamersgate version ? Because the GOG one is not that much more expensive, is it ?

Also, pre-order Majesty 2 for $40 and get Majesty Gold for FREE. Of course, anyone that would be pre-ordering Majesty surely already owns the original. Unless they just lost it.
Makes me regret purchasing Majesty Gold on Impulse a couple months ago when it was $5, especially since I have yet to play it. I owned it when it was originally released, but wanted a digital distribution version. Not sure I’ll be pre-ordering Majesty 2, though, since I have a feeling it’s going to disappoint. I hope it doesn’t.
Good point, but the Gold version on GamersGate is apparently 1-3 for ~17, versus 1-2 for ~18.
But most GamersGate games have that goofy download/installer thing you have to use, if I recall correctly.
