So is I signed up for the ECA. I got the GOG 20% code and loaded up on classic gaming goodness. But I can’t seem to find the Amazon codes. The “Discounted Game Sales/Rental Offerings” page has an entry for Amazon that says, “To access this valuable new members-only discount, please click on the link below.” But there’s no link.

There are a couple of games coming out in the next few weeks I’d like to pre-order with the discount, especially since “Members please note: These codes expire on 9/30/09.” Am I missing something?

They have a new coupon each month or something, check the cheapassgamer thread for a better explanation.
You have to generate a new code for each game.

I’m really interested in Dark Athena, but hasn’t this game got some pretty evil activation scheme that limits the amount of times your game can be activated? At any rate though for only 5 bucks I’ll probably buy it anyway.

By the way, the PC port of Saints Row 2 is a SHIT port that should be avoided at any costs, EVEN for 5$.

Awesome. Saints Row 2 activates on Steam, incidentally. I’ve heard a number of people say that all patched up the PC version is fine, though I can’t independently confirm that.

Have fun with the ridiculously sluggish driving, guys. It will happen no matter how powerful your rig is. The amount of slowdown in this is ridiculous, and it was never patched up correctly. In the copyright notice CD Projekt is mentioned. If this is truly their work then it is an absolute shame. But the true shame belongs to Volition and THQ, who never fixed their damn game.

On Kotaku I’ve read that when it came to PC Red Faction Guerilla, Volition has “learned their lessons with PC Saints Row 2”. Only that they’re using UE3 for RFG which is already extremely well optimized for PC, so it’s not like they had much work to do in the first place. And most of all, they’ve abandoned their own game. It’s practically unusable!

At some point I just got fed up and bought the PS3 version.

As pointed out by CAG, you can get the Driving Force GT wheel for $20 at Best Buy this week if you buy Dirt 2 or NFS: Shift for the PS3.

I wish that was allowable for the 360 versions of those games. I know that it makes sense to restrict it to PS3 versions since the driving wheel itself is a PS3-only wheel, but I’d still rather get the wheel for playing Gran Turismo 5 in the future, while playing all current games with the 360 controller when that option is still available. (Obviously, GT5 will not be on the 360).

Understand that the pc verion of RF Guerilla has a lot of issues. Not the least of which key binding is screwed.
