Hadn’t picked up Saints Row 2 due to horrible PC performance, but for $5 I’ll probably give it a try. Anyone know if you can register the D2D code on Steam? Tempted to grab it even from D2D, but if I can buy it from them and put it on Steam, even better.

Also might grab Frontlines.

Edit: Welp. Rick’s post above mine, and then after a quick googling, I found this. http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?t=53833
Definitely going to grab Saint’s Row 2 then, and hope it’s playable.

It is strange, but for me SR2 is choppy while driving no matter the settings, and I got 2gigs ram, gtx 280…gta4 runs perfectly in comparison. But SR 2 is unplayable for me.And I have retail version linked to steam and thus updated to latest version.

Is anyone else having trouble with the D2D checkout? It says there is a 3-game limit per checkout, and I only have one game in the cart.

In my experience, the game plays great on the PC except for the driving. So if you don’t mind hoofing it, you’ll have a grand old time. There’s plenty of stuff to do, car or no car.

Like, say, “borrowing” a helicopter, landing on a building with a rooftop garden, and throwing people over the edge. Although I always feel a twinge of remorse when I do that…

Saints Row 2 plays fine for me with the settings all the way up, but I have a powerful rig (Radeon 4890, core i7 920). There’s some slowdown when driving, but nothing serious.

That makes sense. SR 2 wasn’t the best port, so a very powerful CPU is the key.

Will that version of Riddick run on a modest work machine?

Steam has Garry’s Mod for 50% off this week. $4.99

Also, tomorrow is a big download launch day for the PC. Batman, Red Faction, and Resident Evil are all coming out on download services tomorrow, so get your pre-orders in now if you plan on buying right away.

Bah, a bunch of ports. Tomorrow’s best PC release is Zuma’s Revenge (which is $2 off on Steam if you buy before it comes out).

Anyone know if the D2D version of Chaos Theory includes Starforce? It is listed as supporting XP and 2000 only, which seems like a warning sign that it might.

Gasp. Might have to grab Garry’s Mod for $5. I had a blast with the mod version ages ago in an unlimited enemy spawns type map. Tried to build fortresses and machines to hold off zombies, antlions, and combine. Wonder if there are any maps like that for the full version.

If anyone was curious, I bought Serious Sam Gold from D2D for $5, and both the original game and its sequel run perfectly on my Windows 7 64-bit system.

Ok I picked up Riddick and SR2… for now. I’m eyeballing Serious Sam and Thief but I’m prolly going to hold out on those.

Oh yeah and I think RPG week might break me… I hope not though.

I really want Saints Row 2 for $5, but unfortunately I live in Australia. Does anyone know of any roundabout way to avoid the geographic restrictions in D2D?

You folks talked me out of sr2 but Riddick is mine. I was a little surprised that it was a 7 GB download. I think that makes it my largest digital download game yet.

Fo reals?

Hell, for five bucks I was planning on picking up a couple more copies just to give to friends.

X Blades free from Best Buy. http://www.techbargains.com/news_displayItem.cfm/177836

Looks like the game is at best mediocre but free is free.

Bahah. That’s pretty bad.

I played the demo for about five seconds …

Well, it does have gratuitous ass.

You’d think that’d be enough to at least demand a quarter, or a dime … Or something.

I mean, it is composed of physical, recyclable materials.
