Oh that’s so mine. Love getting all my adventure-y fix in one place instead of digging around for ancient games I may never find. Yay steam!

Telltale is giving away Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1 on Pirate Day.

Impulse Weekend Deal :

Aztaka $15
Droplitz $5
Scavenger $5

ps I missed out on the Dawn of Discovery sales. Anyone finding PLEASE give me a heads up. I could never buy it now at $50 knowing it was once available at $25.

Jorune

Also $3 off Tropico 3 preorder … Which really isn’t that compelling. But if you were planning on getting it that way anyhow …

Hmm. Why is Tropico 3 on Steam releasing before the Impulse version, and why do they get special maps and leader costumes?

Rock Band 2 bundles have been as low as $89.99. Definitely something to watch for if you’re in the market.

Target had a few new markdowns near me. Bionic Commando for $13.98. Sins of a Solar Empire was $13.98 as well. Mines of Moria for the Lord of the Rings MMO was red tagged too.

my target had SF4 for the 360 out on clearance for 27.00, odd.

I’d definitely take Bionic Commando for 13 bucks, but I don’t know if I want to drive the 45 minutes up to reading.

There were only two Bionic Commando (PS3) on the rack. This was at the 5th street location.

I hope to swing by the one at Broadcasting Square on the way home tonight to see what else they might have.

I saw SFIV for $27.98 as well. Forgot that one. Again, one copy.

That’s the lowest reported clearance price on SF4 for the 360. It will most likely drop again on Monday.

Newegg has some good deals this weekend. I am getting this and this.

Dual Core processor? That’s not going to be able to run Supreme Commander optimally. That’s my objective for my next PC: At least a Quad-core that will kick ass at running SupCom even with a 81x81 map with thousands of units each with physics calculations going on, without any slow-down.

Supreme Commander uses two main threads, one for the “simulation” and one for rendering. If a quad-core CPU or equivalent is detected, it will also spawn threads for audio and graphics driver management.

This explains why we only see a minor improvement when moving to quad-core. The audio and driver threads don’t hammer the CPU quite the way the simulation and rendering threads do.

Rock8man, I find your beliefs fascinating!

Just telling you what I’ve experienced. My dual core PC has trouble with the game slowing down when there’s a big map and lots of units. Meanwhile when my friends play a quad-core-only game, there’s no slowdown. Perhaps it isn’t just a factor of quad-core vs dual-core but just of raw CPU speed then?

Edit: Btw, if your own personal experience with SupCom on dual-core PCs contradicts mine, I’ll be glad to hear about it. Maybe there were other factors involved that made our games with dual-core PCs slow.

Little King’s Story got a price reduction to $29.99 at Gamestop.

I have a 939 motherboard now, and this motherboard will support AM3. I will happily get a motherboard that supports DDR3 memory and a Phenom processor if I can find all three pieces for less than $300.

Via Slickdeals:

4000 point MS point card for $40. (Normally that costs $50 if bought over Xbox Live). Also includes free shipping.

While taking advantage of this deal, I was amused that one of the suggestions that came up for additional accessories I should consider buying was a 1600 point card (normally $20) for $25.

It’s only free shipping if you order over 49.99 worth of stuff, as far as I can see. Am I missing something?

That’s what I thought too, since that’s what the offer in orange said, but when I hit “calculate” to calculate shipping, it said something like $6.99-$6.99 = $0.00 for 3-5 day shipping. I’m not sure how or why it’s canceling out the shipping, but it is. Did you try putting it into your cart and calculating shipping? Is it not giving the $0 option?

There shouldn’t even be shipping on a card you can enter in on xbox.com.

Ordered it and got free shipping, from the receipt I got. Looks like the $10 off is considered a promotion and not a price drop so the free shipping of $50 or more seems to count off of that.
