This does irk me.

Would Storm of Zehir D2D work with the retail disc of NWN2?

Per the product page:

“This product is an expansion and requires either the retail copy or Digital version to play.”

I’m thinking about grabbing NWN2 and Storm of Zehir. Do you need Mask of the Betrayer or does Storm fit in after the NWN2 campaign? D2D doesn’t seem to offer Mask by itself.

This D2D 5 years sale is very disappointing. I guess they I mainly used as a distribution channel for north America, so no sales to other regions.
Also, isn’t Planetside dead?

Too bad D2D doesn’t want to accept my VISA debit card. Fail for D2D.

MotB & SoZ are independent campaigns from one another, so you don’t need one to play the other, though you have to have both if you want access to all the new classes, spells, etc. included in both expansions. Also, a lot of the NWN 2 fan modules and other fan content require MotB, so before you delve into mods make sure you read the requirements.

MotB is a direct sequel to NWN 2, which immediately continues your hero’s adventures from the end of the OC; however you can create a new character to play it and for the most part the story stands on its own rather than building on the OC’s plot. SoZ is set some time after the NWN 2 OC but you create a brand-new party from scratch; it mentions some of the events from the OC and some of the NPCs make cameo appearances, but otherwise it stands alone too.

I had a similar problem on startup, but it’s fixable. If you go into the graphics options, you can crank down the detail until it runs acceptably on older machines. For me (using an ATI X800 Pro) the sweet spot was at level 3.

Not the most fine-tunable of graphics screens, but gets the job done. :)

re: D2D sale. Got Titan Quest Bundle for $5. Assuming I want to play this on a LAN with my son, do I need to order it again for a 2nd license?

I haven’t played it in a couple years, but my wife and I played the d2d download version with only one copy via lan. No idea if it’s the same version or if it’s been patched etc.

I’ll give it a try. thanks

That link doesn’t seem to be working right now. Hopefully they’ll have it working when I get home. Anyone have recommendations one way or another with Drakensang the Dark Eye? Is it worth putting time into? Is it a classic RPG that one shouldn’t miss? Or just an RPG for RPG fans who have run out of other RPGs to play? (I don’t have the latter problem. I still have to get through NWN 2’s first expansion and Gothic 2, and a few others that are considered classics).

Thank you for the info. Curses D2D!! I’ll probably grab them, 10 bucks is a good deal. Looks like the standalone version of MotB is still going for $19.99.

I really like Drakensang. It came out last Winter and was great for the Q1 doldrums. The pnp system it is based on is a bit confusing at first, but a lot of it is common sense if you’ve played crpgs. The game is linear but the character customization is deep and there is even a pretty decent crafting system. I thought it was a great game for thirty bucks but for five I’d call it a steal.

There is a big thread on it. I came to the latter conclusion but will still grab it for $5. That’s only because I’m a completionist, and wouldn’t want to impose my OCD on anyone else!

No, don’t say Draknsang is good! Say it’s terrible. I do not need more games to play, dammit, and I’m already getting NWN2.

Aw shucks. Like Les Jarvis said: Damn you guys, I was hoping for a no. Plus I can’t fault Tim’s logic. Ok, done, I’ll get it tonight.

Newegg has it for $10.

So I take it Drakensang is US only, AGAIN?! I cannot see it on the list.

This sale is pissing me off more and more.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

No, but seriously, that sucks.
