I expect that the people interested in this likely already have it, but Amazon’s Deal of the Day is GT5: Prologue for $22.99. I have no interest in it, but the price is getting closer to fair for what appears to be a glorified demo.

Yeah, I just don’t think buying GT5: Prologue is worth it, even at that price. In fact, you can get Forza 2 starting next week for $20 as a Platinum Hit, and it includes all the DLC that’s been released for the game so far, including new tracks and lots of new cars.

The game that’s the Gold Box game right now, Blazing Angels 2 for PS3, I have for the 360, and it’s great. I’d recommend it to anyone who liked Sky Odyssey on the PS2. It’s not like the crappy Blazing Angels, it’s a much improved sequel. Of course, the Gold Box price for the PS3 version is $23, but the price right now for the 360 version is $20. So I’d still recommend the 360 version to anyone who has both consoles. Also, the game supports the joystick that came with Ace Combat 6, but you don’t need it, the Advanced controls on it are just like controlling a remote controlled aircraft, so they feel natural with the gamepad.

If the patch does what it’s supposed to and unfucks the controls? Yeah, I’d probably pay 20. That’s a game steeped in raw potential that got shoved out the door for some reason I can’t understand far too early.

I couldn’t get past BA2’s controls on 360. Whoever put the throttle on the analogs AND a direction on the same stick should be shot. There was a mission or two I wanted to like, but I just never got there and quit at the first bombing mission.

Wow, I had no idea the Platinum Hits price for Forza 2 was going to be $20. That’s a helluva deal. Certainly a better option that GT5: Prologue for anyone that’s trying to decide between the two. Still, I have a feeling anyone that would try to decide between the two, probably already has both games. Ha ha!

I know this is just the standard Amazon fluctuating price thing, but Too Human is currently $49.99. Pour on the hate, haters! http://www.amazon.com/Too-Human-Xbox-360/dp/B000R0SS3Y/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1219846050&sr=8-1

While no specific numbers were provided, I did see on a recent episode of X-Play that Too Human was the #2 bestselling game right behind Madden 09 according EB/Gamestop data. That was the week prior to its release I believe. Now I have no idea over what period of time that was measured or anything like that, but I think Too Human is selling fairly well.

I liked it, it’s viscerally satisfying combat.

Just don’t play it all at once, the gameplay has too much sameness over the course of the three islands. Take a break and come back to it, which would be easy if you bought it instead of renting like I did.

Keep in mind that Hellgate was also the number one PC game sold for it’s premiere week as well.

Oh snap!

I usually don’t get into NPD numbers too much, but I will be very interested in this months numbers on Too Human as well as next month’s. I can’t wait to see how the hype, drama, and review scores translated to hard sales numbers. It’s going to be very interesting.

Aren’t the sales numbers for the top 10 PC games usually much lower than the console games?

EBGames.com is offering free overnight shipping on Left 4 Dead. Enter the coupon code “4DEAD” to get free overnight shipping. Also, there is apparently a special preorder price of $53.99 (360) and $44.99 (PC) for the game, so that’s another little bargain added in.

Interesting, sounds like influence from Steam. I wonder if Valve worked it out with them to keep distributors happy, or if they’re taking the hit to compete with digital distribution.

I get free value shipping when I enter that code, which is 5 to 10 days rather than overnight. Is the standard price for this supposed to be $59.99? Because that might still be a worthwhile deal.

Sometimes the coupon codes are messed up. Strangely though, the code worked for me just fine and gave me the free overnight shipping. Usually when the coupon code doesn’t work I just wait a couple of hours and try again. The only time this hasn’t worked is a code they sent me in my email for Infinite Undiscovery for $5 off and free overnight shipping. That code still doesn’t work weeks later.

Aw, poor Shattered Suns. Released on the 11th of this month, and already an amazon deal of the day for $17.99. Maybe if it was any good…

I’ll bet that the better way to go would be to wait for it on Steam. First, a Steam preorder will likely get you into a beta like TF2 did. Second, you’ll have to use Steam anyway to play it. Lastly, it screws EB.

Indeed. I pre-ordered for Xbox 360, which is where I think the value of the deal is high. The PC version is probably better gotten via Steam.

Left4Dead retail will of course just install the game data, then you’ll need to decrypt and play through Steam. There’s no reason to buy Left4Dead anywhere but via Steam unless you’re gonna wait several months for retail bargains.

Amazon.com’s Deal of the Day is Shattered Suns for $17.99. The game looks waaaay too hardcore for me, but I’m sure some here are looking forward to it.

GoGamer’s got a decent Madness sale right now:
Alone in the Dark PC, $14.90
Republic Commando, $5.90
Star Wars Battlefront 2, $5.90
A bunch of MMO stuff for cheap (Pirates of the Burning Sea, Guild Wars Factions, EQ2: Rise of Kunark)
