Played a few games so far and it really brought back some great memories of playing SC1 with my friends in college. They did an amazing job capturing the feel of the original while still having lots of cool new things.

I’m monkeypunky on battle.net and I’m really terrible. I can’t wait for the single player though.

Hmmm… Ok.

10 Rax
11 Depot
11 Orbital Command

I’m unsure about the next bit. Either CC on 16-17 or Depot and then CC on ~21. 3 more Rax while the CC builds
OC as soon as the expansion finishes

Contiuously produce Marines
Quad Gas at ~45

pm-ed you.

If you’re going quad-rax FE I’d suggest doing a 10-depot, 11-rax, 13 or 14 OC build and not letting up on building SCVs. You’re gameplan is on long-term economy and you don’t want to get behind on workers (especially since you’ll want to transfer as soon as you FE finishes).

A 10-rax build is about putting early harrass on, which means Reapers or a Marauder rush.

Hmmm… The thing is it pays to have 2 marines out when a rush gets to your ramp, and me being in a low league this tends to happen a lot. I suppose I could swap around the timings and get an extra SCV out before the Orbital Command. And yea I make sure to continuously produce SCV’s, in fact I haven’t been in a game yet where I haven’t been far ahead in worker production.

Also I don’t know when I should move out? After I get 1/1 or as soon as combat shield and stim finish? I’ve been waiting for 1/1 and adding some Marauder’s and 2 medivacs to my army but I’m not sure if that’s the right option.

What does 1/1 refer to?

This is a serious question?

Upgrades. 1 attack / 1 armor

I don’t see a question, not directly at least, just an interest in why someone doesn’t appreciate SC2; mind you, I was never into SC or War3 in the first place, I got hooked by watching other people play, in real life and in replays.

I don’t like begging, but if someone has a spare EU invite key, I’d sure appreciate one.

Been playing the beta a lot exclusively as Terrans. I like Vikings. I miss firebats. I’m not happy with the non-marine infantry. The medic/transport is nice, except that its default function for a right-click on a marine is to load it up instead of to follow it, which would be more useful.

Pm sent. See you on Europe hopefully soon.

I recently discovered they joys of 2vs2 random after losing interest in 1vs1. After going 0-5 in the placement matches and getting placed in the copper league with some hilarious partners, I have now worked my way up to platinum.

However platinum seems to be the stage where the game shifts from being a fun game with epic lategame battles to rather tiresome matches, where you always see the same openings and matches get decided quite quickly by early rushes.

My usual partner hasn’t been much inspired to play lately so I’ve played more 1vs1 than 2vs2 but I still prefer the later, mainly because you get those epic battles you mentioned and because two players are able to complement each other either by dividing micro/macro duties or simply by allowing each to go air/ground specific.

I miss one night and suddenly I’m “much inspired to play”? ;)

Summer break begins now. I’ll be online, shoot me an invite to a game. DemonG.dgs

armando.penblade here. be nice to see some of you guys :)

Is there any way to see what your w/l is for each faction? I’ve been playing a lot of random faction lately, and I want to confirm which I think I’m better at.

When does your ladder change? I’ve been stuck at #1 on my copper ladder for a couple of days now. If I click “ladders” I see I’m on bronze as well, but that doesn’t show on my main screen. Confused…

Interesting news here.

Starcraft 2 will be sold as two versions in regions like Asia and South America. The standard edition and the lite edition. The standard edition will be like the ones sold in US/EU, priced at 60USD. The lite edition will only contain the multiplayer, priced at 10USD and… wait for it… it is going to require a monthly subscription.
