Ha. I was a delivery driver at a Gumby’s from 2000 to 2001, during my overtime year of college. In my one year of tenure, we had gone through four managers. A few years after I left, it was permanently shut down because of, as reported by local media, multiple health code violations.

(Don’t know all the particulars of this bill but apparently it represents the largest investment in science and tech by the federal gov’t in a long time. Unfortunately it also includes $10 billion for Blue Origin, Bezo’s space company. I guess if we don’t give billionaires incentives then they’ll just take their toys and go home.)

In the filing, the Biden administration said it “shares the same ultimate objective” as the conservative Christian schools named in the case.

Yeah, 60 was needed for this to go anywhere so it’s not like this failed because of the missed vote but I’m fed up with members of Congress failing to show up to do their job.
I feel like they should be fined. If an NFL player gets fined for missing mandatory mini-camp it only seems fair. Who runs the Congressional Owners Union? I feel like it is us.
Very much this. And you can’t even meaningfully punish them for it, because what are you going to do - vote Republican? Not vote? Unless they can be primaried you’re just screwed because we only have one functional political party. It’s infuriating.
