The target needs to be the Dems in the Senate who won’t abolish the filibuster, and if Biden’s serious, he’ll fight like hell for better Dems in the Senate and keeping the House.
We’ll never be able to rely on the moderate and loon, so we need 52 (and hopefully not more)

Well at least he had some energetic highlights. I still enjoy having a president that doesn’t just keep lying when a mic is in front of him.
I agree. I also think Biden has a good sense for what is doable, and so I’m willing to trust his judgement
If the filbuster could be busted, Biden would be all over whoever he could to get it done.
I’m just scared I’ll have to flee my home , or fight for it. I’d rather get through this peacefully if that’s possible, and it’s going to take folks like Biden, or a Roy Cooper, to do it.
Every time I see my parents these days, they are believing crazier and crazier things. I fear for my safety if I don’t keep much of my life hidden from them.
Hopefully Unca Joe’s bringing the noogies and wedgies to end the malarkey.

Hey guys! Guess what week it is!
I wonder if Manchin and Sinema are on board.

We will likely find out for sure later today.
All caps even. Edit: Of course, “open” is (purposefully) vague.

From what I read the bigger question is if AOC and the rest of the “Squad” is on board. There are complaints that the bill isn’t big enough for them.
So is this Biden’s one shot to get something meaningful done on climate this term? (Apart from the odd EO.)

Possibly, depending on what happens next November.
Though don’t they have another reconciliation opportunity in 2022 before the elections?
I think there is zero chance that the House refuses to pass a bill of this magnitude that can pass the Senate.
Yeah, there’s room within the parameters of $3.5 trillion for most folks to feel like they got their pony.

And remember that this is separate from and meant to be in addition to the bipartisan deal previously worked out.
Bernie clearing some space for the left wing of the House.
Sanders on board gives AOC and others room to support.
Yeah, agreed. If AOC et al want to do some politicking around how even this deal isn’t going far enough, sure, I’m into that. But trying to block it in the House would be the kind of political miscalculation (cue Daveed Diggs, “You don’t have the votes!”) that I don’t expect from her.

West Virginia is gonna be getting a stable full of ponies.
Fuck ponies, they want…oh wait, its West Virginia. Of course they want to fuck ponies.
They can afford to lose 10 in the House. AOC will vote yes after squawking a lot if her vote is needed. She’s more of a pragmatist than folks think, and she’s smart enough to play the long game. Omar, Cori Bush, and Talib’s the ones most likely to vote no, and you have some blue dogs left who might also vote no. Pressley will vote yes, she’s closer to Warren than AOC, and is thinking of a Senate run.
