In million years, I wouldn’t have supported the idea of issuing a trillion dollars coin. But at this point, it seems like the least bad option. For the love of God if we do this please make it for a big ass amount like 100 trillion or Googl so I don’t have to put up with another fucking debt ceiling debate in my lifetime.

Romney: Votes against it.
Also Romney: Look you should’ve been nicer we played ball.

Wut?

Yes, this. As things stood, the Dems were (worst case) going to have to pass a reconciliation bill that included the debt ceiling increase, in the next ten days; and if there was anything else in that bill, the Reps were going to obstruct it relentlessly. Now they have 8 weeks to do that: either a BBB bill that also addresses the debt ceiling, or a BBB bill without that and then force the Reps to help pass a debt ceiling increase in regular order.

Watching the media pounce on Schumer for not being gracious is pretty crazy, like the media somehow believe that the Republicans need some insult to be obstructive assholes in the future; like they aren’t going to be obstructive assholes even if Schumer were to line them up and plant a wet kiss on each of their asses.

Manchin said last night that he doesn’t support using a filibuster carve-out to pass a debt ceiling increase in December. He says both sides need to make a deal to pass it.

It’s clear that Manchin is queasy about helping to pass the BBB reconciliation bill in anything approaching its substantial entirety, but also queasy about being the one to kill it. He seems to be angling for some kind of deal made by others to quash it, or severely limit it, using the debt ceiling as leverage.

So the idea is to get Sinema on board somehow (give her a huge stack to RWBY fanfiction to read once she agrees to keep her occupied?), and then shame Manchin into it?

This seems vaguely insulting to RWBY fans :)

Is there a reason it shouldn’t be?

The fandom/writing has a bit of a bad reputation (undeserved for fandom, writing is very hit or miss)

Not in the loop…what is RWBY?

Robin Wright’s Booty Youths?

I’d watch it. (18+)

Just be careful about the fan fiction. It has a reputation for a reason.

There is a show called RWBY. It has its proponents.

I enjoyed the early seasons music, that went with the fight scenes. And the Food Fight was cool. But I have long since stopped being up to date with the show.

Well, the creator dying suddenly after season 3 hurt it a lot. Basically they’ve been trying to pick up the pieces ever since.

Game wise, they were the guest characters in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, a fighting game that did surprisingly well (it got a few more guests later on) It was Monty’s dying wish for his chars to be a fighting game, and Mori over at Arcsys was a big fan of his work, so he made it happen.

The reputation of the show itself is divisive. One place I used to go despises it, my Calibur discord loves it.

Unmentioned so far: it stands for Red, White, Black, Yellow, which are the thematic colors of its four protagonists. It’s an American-made webcartoon about girlfights, with an anime look. (I’m told it’s bad to call this style of cartoon made outside Japan “anime”.)

And yet were I not to know it was made in the US I would have thought it straight up anime from Japan.

Thanks, the thread hijacks in QT3 really take some weird twists.

Palabra!

Lovely letter.
