…as though it’s Biden’s fault that there’s a global pandemic still raging in a lot of places (which is screwing up our supply chains) and still killing way more Americans than it should because a bunch of home-grown idiots believe anti-vax nonsense.
(Not arguing that his approval rating is not low, just saying it’s ridiculously unfair that people feel everything is his fault somehow, because apparently he’s got some magic wand he hasn’t waved that would fix everything, including two so-called Democrats in the Senate).

Just the way it is. The buck stops at the top, or it should. I don’t think most voters have the time or inclination to really dig into why things are the way they are. Most don’t even have a basic understanding of how our government functions, for that matter.
Only 56% of Americans can even name the three branches of government, let alone understanding how they operate.

Good God That’s John Boehnor’s music!
Pelosi going to attempt to jam progressives and try to pass BIF with GOP votes instead of progressive votes.
Wow.
The problem with walking on a tight rope is you can fall off. Pelosi is a skilled politician though.

LOL I will proverbially eat my hat if any GOP vote for any Dem bill.

Yep, that’s their superpower. It’s hard to govern when the government is so nearly perfectly split if you’re the party that has intelligent nuance.

I think some will, but she might need a lot of moderates- I could see 100 Dems (The entire progressive caucus) saying no. I don’t think she gets 90 Republicans to do it.
Jayapal saying she’s got her caucus ready to vote no.

I’m pretty sure I hate her as much as Sinema and Manchin by now.

Biden’s telling them to get in line.
Get in line, people.

All or nothing. So we get nothing. Fuck.

Because the infrastructure bill is halfway there?
Timex

Because the infrastructure bill is already done and ready to go to Biden’s desk tonight.
This will work well. First we’ll get the sack of grain across the river, then we can come back and pick up the fox and the hen and then bring them across.
These politicians should only get paid when shit gets passed. :(

At some point the center of America is going to have to choose between socdem/demsoc and fascism. The center has failed.
That said I understand Pelosi’s approach, vote BBB now it gets turned down in Senate due to dinosaur Dems. I just expect it to fail unless republicans think BBB will pass and will vote infra just to sabotage it, in which case Pelosi gets played and the progressives will be likely turn into the Tea Party.

Putting social democracy and democratic socialism in the same bin isn’t ideal.

They’re not the same, I’m definitely more socdem personally (The reason I ally with demsocs is more because they’d use the tactics needed to get real change, they’d eventually go too far for me but we’re far from that happening) There’s a reason I defend Biden against socdems as much as I do, and it’s not just because of some good things that impact me directly already, but because I believe in his approach (and this is also why I’m supporting Jeff Jackson so hard here)
It’s because of that need that I lump them together. The future of the left will be one of those two, not the current Dem leadership which is the epitome of “learned nothing and forgotten nothing” (Talleyrand was one of the more interesting historical figures I read about as a young 8-yr old, I loved reading about the French Revolution and Napoleon, which probably was one of the formative things in my mindset)

They are voting on the infrastructure bill as we speak.
Moderates said they will vote on the BBB by November 15, and progressive caucus days they would agree to vote for the infrastructure bill.

5 gop votes for it so far.
