If the source is correct, it just means Sinema is a crazy person, which is depressing because it also means there will never be a way to reason with her.

I suppose Sinema looks at Trump and thinks he came out of nowhere to win it all in '16, so why can’t she? Trump was offensive, stupid, racist, and thoroughly reprehensible and he won. Sinema in '24!

But yes, insane. Even if Biden doesn’t run the democrats will not nominate her. If Biden does run she won’t unseat him. At this point the democrats might as well attempt to primary her. She’s worthless.

She doesn’t need the Democrats, though! She’ll lead us via a glorious Third Way where she unites conservatives and liberals, anarchists and totalitarians, New York and Chicago style pizzas all into one unstoppable coalition based around how amazing she is.

The problem is projecting the weird local politics of Arizona to encompass the nation. For example in Sinema’s race all three candidates (R,D and I) were women. Not that this in itself should be bad, because it isn’t, but US politics has a bias against women candidates, and so every party putting women as their primary ticket candidate tells me there’s some weird local triangulation going on there. Sinema winning with 50% of the votes (2.4% going to the Green candidate), in a very purple Arizona, seems to have convinced her she’s got it all figured out.

I’m still skeptical of taking Twitter gossip as ā€œtruthā€ though, even from blue check-marked Serious People. There doesn’t need to be a Grand Sinema Theory to explain her behavior. She could just be attention seeking, cynical or not that sharp, or some combination of them.

I think that it’s important remember that there’s a lot of reasons for people to run for an office that don’t involve thinking that they have any chance in hell at actually winning. There’s tons of ways to run a campaign with an exit strategy that is a big personal win for the candidate.

Yeah, this is true, and what I naively thought Trump was doing back in 2015-ish.

I think there’s a good chance that’s what Trump thought he was doing 2015-ish as well.

This is the one that almost drove Einstein mad, right?

When I write my personal memoir about 1980s CRPGs, I’m totally gonna run for President to boost sales.

Well, if we end up with President Sinema, at least we’ll have some fun outfits in the White House while the world burns.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect is strong with this one!

Sinema is currently underwater in terms of approval/disapproval, not only with Democrats, but with voters overall, so the idea that she’s gonna win via independents isn’t really viable.

And that’s with her own party hierarchy laying off the criticisms in the hopes to win her over.

We are going to discover the temperature at which her fashion style spontaneously combusts sooner rather than later I think.

When she continues to torch any forward progress she will fins herself getting toasted.

Ok, I LoL’ed at the pontoon boat bit.

For some bizarre reason my Pixel 5a with 5G is giving me no audio at all with that video. Going to reboot my phone and see if that helps.

After reboot I still have to actually go to Twitter to get audio.

And yes, Sinema is delusional if she thinks she’ll ever be President. Maybe if we lived in the Idiocracy universe.

I’m pretty sure that’s the plan.

I mean, don’t we?
