Since federal and many states require union wages to paid in government contracts. This means that starting wages are $25-$30 for guys shoveling asphalt. $50-60, for drivers and senior workers, and $75+/hour for heavy construction operators. $75/hour is $150K year, no degree is required. Since there is already a shortage of workers in construction this infrastructure bill is going to increase demand and apprenticeship opportunities.

What I haven’t seen from the Democrats or the liberal press, is articles on why the infrastructure bill is great for blue collar workers.
